Answer
Tuesday October 20, 2015
Category: 20th CENTURY NOVELS
Clue: A LINE FROM THIS 1995 NOVEL IS "THE INFANT GLISTENED A SCANDALOUS SHADE OF PALE EMERALD"
Answer: What is Wicked?
I was trying to think of a pop culture character/creature from around that time who was green colored, and couldn't think of anything except Avatar, which I'm not sure was a novel, and they were blue anyway. Emerald was the key word, as BSF divined.

I don't think I've ever been more surprised to be right than the married actors question. Luckily I helped my son study for his social studies test, and the Prime Meridian was a topic. I'd like to think I still would have gotten it.

Category: THE PRIME MERIDIAN
Clue: BESIDES THE U.K., IT'S THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT THE PRIME MERIDIAN TOUCHES THAT STARTS WITH A VOWEL

Answer: Where is Algeria?
Somehow I fixated on Ivory Coast, but pondered if they would use that country since its name is 'Cote d'Ivorie', but I know Algeria is huge so I went with that. Ethiopia, Eritrea, Equatorial Guinea, Uganda and Angola are other nations on the continent beginning with a vowel.

Andorra is officially at 1˚ 31' east latitude. So if the prime meridian was really fat, it could touch.

I guessed Equatorial Guinea after deciding against Andorra. I think both are actually pretty close.

Civil War one was a gimme.

I too figured Ivory Coast is probably Cote d'Ivore or however you spell it, but couldn't think of another vowel country in west Africa so I just went with it. I knew Equatorial Guinea/Angola/etc. were too far east but I always get Algeria wrong. In my head for some reason I always put it next to Egypt and put Libya next to Morocco.
