NFL 2015 - Week 6

How typically Bills is this?

Tyrod Taylor takes over in the second half of a game, almosyt singlehandedly pulls the team to a victory. Running, passing, getting his teammates fired up...

And...
Surprising Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor (knee) might miss multiple games due to a sprained MCL, per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
EJ Manuel looms.

Oh, the Bengals roll into Orchard Park this Sunday.

Luckily it's now five o'clock and I can open a heavy Imperial Stout to help me digest this news.

So Pruitt what's your over/under on TDs and yards that Cassell will throw against the Giants?

Giants aren't particularly good defending the pass.

But it is Matt Cassel.

I'll go 1 and 220.

No sympathy from me, either.

I'm actually sorta excited to have Cassel as my team's QB this week. Could he possibly be any worse than Weeden?

It must have hurt to type that.

Wouldn't the "Billsy" thing be for Cassell to throw for 300+ and 4 TDs?

Not as much as it hurt to watch Brandon Weeden play.

I picked up Cutler for this week (dropped Teddy Gamemanager), as Roethlisberger and Carr (bye) are other QB's. As a Bears fan, I am... I don't know.

I'm sure he'll go for 350 yards and 4 TDs this week.

In a vacuum, sure. But he's shilled for enough crap over the years ("not as much as Peyton!!!") that is comes across as a little disingenuous. Or maybe he's changed now that he's a dad and Coke and General Mills aren't paying anymore.

I'm not going to worry about his intents (unless he starts endorsing Pepsi), I'm just going to be happy that a public figure called out garbage food for being garbage. If the rest of New England is like Rush, it'll be off the shelves before Thanksgiving.

Did you guys read that article last year (I think) about his routine and lifestyle with the "guru"? I think he's onto something.

A guy on the Steelers board obviously thinks that not drinking Cokes and eating count chocula makes him a puss.

I took this weekend's upcoming 34-34 tie as promising factor for fantasy football only.

Based on his comments about mass-produced foods being poison, have we considered the possibility that Brady's "guru" is howard?

I wonder how the NFL feels about Brady slamming McD's, since they are sponsor of the NFL?

You don't see this every day, but according to Football Outsiders' stats Denver has the worst offensive DVOA in the NFL by quite a bit and the best defensive DVOA by quite a bit.

Not that that would be especially surprising if you've watched any of their games.

Yep. Reminds me a bit of the Trent Dilfer Ravens team that won the Super Bowl. (No, I'm not predicting or expecting that outcome for the Broncos this season.)

A couple of injuries to that front four and the season is probably over because I don't think Manning is capable of carrying a team on his back any more. Hell, at this point he might well be a liability. But it should be interesting to see if this continues.

Atlanta Falcons - total fraud right?

Like, they're going to walk through their division to a 2-seed, go through the cycle of everyone picking them to lose, followed by everyone over-compensating the other way picking them because they get no respect, followed by them losing at home by 20 to Seattle in the second round.

I hate the Falcons.

I seldom bet NFL but I'm all over the Saints +3/100 at home tonight. Getting the key number is great. Getting no juice is a bonus.

I'm feeling it the other way - the Falcons may be pretenders, but the Saints are pretty much garbage. They beat the Cowboys and that's it.

Happy to entertain a small wager...

Saints are most definitely garbage, but ATL is overrated too. I think this game should be closer to pick.

Home dog on the key number plus no juice? Seems worth the risk. I appreciate the offer of a wager, but I already made mine with the casino so I'll just ride that one.

What's the percentage of kick returns and punt returns played with penalties called? It's got to be 70%

Seven and three are "key numbers" because, as the most common scores in football, those are the final score margins that the most games (moreso NFL than college). Most sportsbooks try to avoid those lines to avoid pushing (the game end in a tie). Getting a key number gives you a (relatively) strong chance to tie and not lose your money.

"No juice" means brian isn't paying the sportsbook a fee for handling the bet. Normal bets are at -110, which means you bet $110 to win $100. Brian's bet is dollar-for-dollar.

Glad you made it to the casino before I prognosticated!

Sucks for sure In the current climate. But I also think maybe it's less severe than is being reported. But I am often very wrong.

Oh for sure. I'm not saying he should be suspended or anything like that. But I'm sure the Browns have to be pissed.
