It's hard to not read your S3 posts while I work my way through S1. Watched Ep 8 & 9 last night, only one more Ep left in S1. Then I get to trade in my iPad for my 46" HDTV, can't wait for that.

Damn, Ep 9 was a heart breaker. Fucking Sean Bean.

I am really impressed with most of the characters, the development has been excellent, imho. Rob Stark is the fucking Shizzy. Tyrion continues to be awesome, Arya continues to be awesome, and Joffrey continues to piss me the fuck off.

The episode I downloaded had punk rock music over the last 2 minutes of audio between Jamie and whoever the captor guy was. So ridiculous.

But at least it didn't cut to black 6 minutes from the end like Mad Men last week.

Not sure what happened there, must have been an issue with your download. In the broadcast there was no music until the cut to black, then the song (a punk version of the tune sung earlier by the soldiers) over the credits.

Apparently this has caused a dust-up with some members of the fan base who thought the anachronistic music ruined the moment. I loved it.

I'm reading reader comments and apparently everyone's heated because it seems like people are intentionally messing with the files before uploading. I'm cool about it because it's free, but I hope it stops.

The slaver selling the soldiers to Dany cracks me up. I keep thinking he's going to get caught.

Is there something behind Littlefinger's whores not taking the money from Tyrion's squire, Poderick? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I doubt it. Tyrion and Bronn pulling up chairs for the details was great.

I dont think remember Pod bangin any hoes in the books, so I have no clue if there is anything behind that. It cracked me up though, as did Tyrion dragging the chair to the end of the table during the small council meeting.

For a moment I thought they were going to gouge the Kingslayers eye out instead of chopping off his hand. I had been wondering how they were going to make a one-handed Kingslayer work visually.

The Meereen knot was intriguing...

I've watched up through S2, Ep 5 last night. The storylines took off, and there's shitloads of new characters, but so far, S2 is as awesome as S1. I think Tyrion Lannister is one of my favorite chars of all time.

Thanks for this.

It's pieces like that that make me like the show more. I'm geographically fucktarded despite looking at maps and halfheartedly studying this random ass world setting.

Finally finished S2. Holy mother of fuck. The penultimate episode was the tits. The wildfiring of Stannis's fleet was majestic.
The battle scene was amazing. Tyrion was amazing.."There's some men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them."
Shame he's now getting the royal shaft.

Starting S3 tonight, so I'l be all caught up in time for the new episode this Sunday night. Sweet.

That final scene was awesome. I hate HATE hate any kind of stuff that messes with people's eyes. It's pretty much the one thing in movies I have trouble not turning away from. So, when he pulled the knife back, I was so relieved.

And then, WHAM!

And I loved the Hold Steady song. Thought it was a pretty cool way to keep the dissonance going after that final scene.

Tremendous episode. loved the scenes with Tyrion in the council chamber room, and with Podrick and Bronn. Copius Details.

Never expected that ending. Holy Shit.

What I love about the show, is that it is so rich in characters and storylines. The show has so many groups to hop between, and I'm enjoying each and every one.

ETA: Margaery is a fucking freak. Deep down shes as twisted as Joffrey.

Meh. i liked the first season and i've watched everything since but meh. not sure what the big deal is.i haven't watched the newest episode yet but i have it. too many fucking characters, not enough action. i've read fantasy novels before, they weren't this boring. The season opener was boring, so was the second episode. maybe the third was better?
i'm beginning to think this is some hipster prank.

I know its hip to be the meh guy, but the book this season is based on is just one stunner of a turn after another. The first two eps were necessary to set the stage. But, meh on, if you must.

Haha. what i was getting at is that it's hip to like the show. most people i talk to don't know who's who and only have a slight idea of what is happening in the show. but they all say they love it. i ain't no hipster, the mehs were real.

Mehs are over. i'm back in.

but still, they could do with a few less characters/storylines. someone start a war that kills more than 'innocents by the thousands'. just wipe out a whole race/storyline.

Maybe it's because I pounded down every episode over a 3 week span, but I'm not having problems following the chars. I guess if you've been watching once a week with long breaks between seasons, things might be foggier.

Gently I say this. Make your peace with the numbers of characters and storylines. That's how Martin wrote the books, for better or worse.

The books are written as this epic setting and universe, right? So...that means tons of characters, story lines, plot twists, history, and everything else a fantasy writer can pack into 7 books roughly a thousand pages at a time. And HBO went along with it to pack into a TV series with 10 episodes, an hour per, each season.

So the "too many characters" beef is just annoying to me.

That's the first episode in a long time where I was completely shocked that the hour was up. FANTASTIC stuff.

You kind of knew Dany knew what he was saying and was going to fuck shit up, but it was still AWESOME to watch.

And you could see the Kingslayer and Brienne relationship kicking off when he saved her last episode, but it's still an interesting turn.

And Joffrey's queen to be is WORKING shit out, man. She's not only really nice to look at, but I love how she's spinning a web in King's Landing.

Great stuff... the eunuch back story, the whole turn of events with Theon? Then you had the shitshow up above The Wall...

Learn to Speak Dothraki and Valyrian From the Man Who Invented Them for Game of Thrones
Bad news, Game of Thrones fans: You are mispronouncing Daenerys’s honorific, Khaleesi. But don’t feel bad. On the HBO show, her smitten man-servant Jorah has been saying it incorrectly as well; the more accurate pronunciation should be “KHAH-lay-see,” not “ka-LEE-see.”
And I had no idea there was a such thing as The Language Creation Society. That's the coolest thing ever. I should have went to college for linguistics. That just sounds like a fascinating degree to have.
