I have no idea why, but I've had this song stuck in my head for the last day or two.
THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH GALA LUNCHEONS, LAD!

Minchin performing the Doctor Who theme at the Royal Albert Hall with a key-tar and a Prince Charles mask anyone?

Re: The Random Theme Songs thread
I bought this single.
Yep, in the 70s, theme songs were put out on 45s, and they reached the top 40. This one made it to #10. Good luck listening all the way through...

You didn't need to buy the record; just call me. That was my answering machine message, on my first answering machine. (well, not the whole 3:15)

My favorite as a wee one.

You'll be happy to know that "Inspector Gadget" is being remade. Some episodes are on Netflix in the States. I am writing a few episodes for the second season.BSF21 wrote:

Hand drawn or cgi? Can you get a personal apology from Broderick, Andy Dick, D.L. Hughley, Mr. T, and Dabney Coleman?Pruitt wrote:You'll be happy to know that "Inspector Gadget" is being remade. Can't imagine him without Don Adams' voice.
Can you manage to get swamp references into the script or any of your scripts? Inspector Gadget v. Business Horse? Maybe work "The swamp" as a website?

It's cgi and the voice actor does a pretty good imitation of Don Adams.
I am in the middle of editing a script, so it's hard to sneak in new content. But watch for an episode called "Gadget and Oatsfunkle" in about 6-8 months... I'm going to have Claw's nephew say that "it's getting kind of swampy in here" when he arrives at the site of the volcano. (No guarantee that the line will survive subsequent revisions though...)
We've got a "writers' summit" in a few weeks where we throw around ideas. I'll try to come up with a plot set in a swamp.

I definitely remember the theme from The Rockford Files being a hit single. I enjoyed that show. James Garner got beat up every week, and his buddy Angel screwed things up every week.
Here's another great old theme song from the '70s:

Whenever old farts (people my age!) complain about the music of today, I think about the fact that this song - the theme from a pretty crappy cop show - made it to #1 in 1976.

Yeah, but in our defense, that was an awesome song.Pruitt wrote:Whenever old farts (people my age!) complain about the music of today, I think about the fact that this song - the theme from a pretty crappy cop show - made it to #1 in 1976.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Re: The Random Theme Songs thread
Mel Brooks did a show based on Robin Hood. Had to look it up - it ran for 13 weeks when I was 11.
Can't remember if it was good, but damned if this theme song hasn't stuck in my head for 40 years.
"They robbed the rich,
Gave too the poor.
Except what they kept
For expenses."
The brain is a strange thing. I remember this song, but had to write a note to remind me to pick up milk the other day.
