The last bagel left was cinnamon raisin and I really wanted a bagel so I got it and it was not only bad because it was cinnamon raisin but it also had sugar on top so it super bad and also gave me diabetes and there's a very good chance I never eat another cinnamon raisin bagel for the rest of my life.

The good news is that diabetes can take decades off your life so now maybe there's less of a chance of you ever being forced into this situation again.

It really is the worst bagel. I'm blown away by it's mass appeal. Fucking humans.

I even stepped back and thought things over before doing it. In my (slight) defense, I didn't see it beforehand. Had I seen the fucking sugar, I would have been out.

Me too. And the butter is free at panera but a scoop of cream cheese costs two bucks. Blueberry and cinnamon sugar are also good.

Maybe it's a heritage thing, but in my mind, bagels aren't a pastry. A cinnamon-raisin bagel is closer to being a donut than a bagel.

Actually, pineapple cream cheese sounds good to me, too. I've never seen it, though.

The first quality bagel after passover is a delight that you non-matzoh eating folks just don't understand

oh and pineapple cream cheese sounds like something that should only be leveraged for making a dessert.

I'm 100% against anything sweetening up a bagel. No fruit in cream cheese.

Fruit in cream cheese is okay (I like the pineapple stuff), but it has to be on toast, not a bagel.

We have Friday breakfast meetings here at work, with a different team member responsible for bringing food each week. Bagels are by far the most common (and popular) breakfast item, and as a result I've been able to sample a fair number of offerings from bagel shops in North Jersey (Union/Essex/Bergen). This place might be my personal favorite. Chewy, doughy. Everything bagels generously covered on both sides. Even the veggie cream cheese is great.

If you're ever in a faraway place called "Philadelphia", the veggie cream cheese at Knead is outstanding.

Unpopular food opinion: while bad bagels most definitely exist, "good bagels" do not.

Bang on!

Sadly, I must admit that there is always a healthy supply of bagels at my house, but only because my eldest daughter would otherwise skip breakfast...

I eat bagels probably once or twice a week, I don't hate them. But bagel eating is mostly about the avoidance of bad bagels, let's face it.

Ouch mate. Honestly. That is below the belt on a Golota-esque level.

I'm genuinely rethinking my position...
