The Greatest Swampcrash

Post by wlu_lax6 »

..this week

Okay here is how this will work. Games is open until I close it (but no sooner than next Friday).
Two Games- Total Score and Elimination
Elimination Scoring- After the first half of the questions we eliminate the bottom set of people. Then every 3 questions after that we eliminate more so we are down to the last 3 questions with 3 respondents. Elimination will be based on the 3 question totals (not total score).

Some flexibility in elimination may be necessary based on total number of respondents.

PM your answers.

Which is exactly how I designed the question distribution. Almost added point reductions for arbitrary credit for funniest answers per question but decided to try and keep it somewhat objective (considering how many of these are just downright guesses/educated guesses/strategic guessing)

Yeah, I looked it up after submitting and it's virtually impossible to find the definition without seeing a possible answer as an example.

Sure, why not. Spoilered in case anyone wants to stay as "pure" as possible:

From Wikipedia:

In the U.S. investment and venture-capital industry the term unicorn denotes a start-up company—originally and often software-focused, but as of 2016 more inclusive of other sectors—whose valuation has exceeded the somewhat arbitrary value of $1 billion.

Some clarifications, please:

#1) WTF?

#2) Are books after 2002 considered if you like them subjectively and think they would have been on the list had they been released prior to 2002? Are books that may be written at some point in the future eligible (Just thinking of Ken Griffey Jr.s forthcoming opus "We all Did Steroids, Deal With it!")?

#3) Can I put myself down for this one, as in a fictitious world I have been simultaneously a chief member of the Cincinnati Reds, Michael Jordan's only kryptonite?

#4) This is fictitious, too, right?

#5) Can I use any of the "nicknames" I called you when reading these questions instead?

#6) I know a guy who referees high school football, but not his official title. Can I just tell you his name?

#7) Does this include only cars that were paid off in full at some point during your ownership, and do rentals count if you used for like, a weeklong vacation?

#8) UK or American Version?

#9) Does it count as a playoff appearance if you get trotted out on the field in pre-game ceremonies because you were a former Super Bowl MVP? Or do only those actually included in the coin toss ceremony get that credit?

#10) I bet people on every FBS campus outside of Eugene (where it would be a capital offense) wear under armour, because it's a pretty popular brand. So I assume there are no incorrect answers, other than Oregon?

#11) Do albums they had in their possession while in the studio count?

#12) Does this include engine-driven vehicles?

#13) Do we get a Tote Bag if we get 1 point on this question?

#14) Any given sunday as many as 28 teams play, but I assume you had a specific date in mind. Please provide this date.

#15) Everyone is gonna answer 6

#16) Mike Tirico does play by play I thought.

#17) Seriously, if anyone gets this right, they cheated

#18) Seriously, if anyone gets this right, they cheated

#19) No.

#20) I feel like louthegiantrat has a hige advantage so this is under protest

#21) hey, this one is pretty cool!

#22) Do people with two "o"s in their name count?

#23) When counting appearances, does it count each time that the camera cuts to a person then back?

#24) Naming rights are expensive and I don't think I can name a stadium, sorry.

#25) Who is your tournament playing pinball friend. It matters.

#26) Is this the animated series?

#27) See #24

#28) You accidentally put a "1" before the 0 in this question.

#29) What if the one i want to use is only mildy humorous?

#30) You got me here. I knew the 97 teams pretty well, though.

#31) Steamed

#32) #neverforget
