I'm not grasping this. Are there non-performing(?) musicians in the HoF?

I had trouble with that too, and AFTER I sent my response to Carwash, I went and checked the HoF site, and it looks like there are songwriters and maybe producers or label owners there.

ETA - and happily my answer did actually make the HoF.

Yes, people like producers, promoters, etc. The question is meant to exclude them.

I figured "artist or band" already excluded them. Thus the confusion.

This is a good question that I should have clarified. No one so far has given an answer like this, so I'll say "no."

Basically, any artist/group inductee from a rock- or rock-derived genre (R&B, soul, rap, etc.) who first became prominent since 1950 or so is what I'm looking for.

Going to start narrowing the answer pools slightly:

QUESTION #4: Name a pitcher inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The following players have a cumulative score greater than zero for common/missed items:
BFJ (2)
Pruitt (2)
bronto (1)
AB (1)
Shirley (1)
J-Lo (1)
PDX (1)

All others who have participated so far stand at 0.

You can (and are encouraged to) still participate if you got a common/incorrect item. New players are also welcome, but you will be docked a point for the rounds you missed.

PM me with your response or e-mail (daveclements78 at gmail dot com).

Just not my thing. I don't remember the exact reason but I think because I have some big gaps (like college football since the 80s and pro football since the 90s) that caused me to lose badly and feel dumb. I do enjoy it as a spectator.

Most regular players have gaps like that in one area or another. Things usually even themselves out across the board unless you are Ryan or wlulax.

If I 1) manage to get onto the TV show Jeopardy! as a contestant, and 2) surpass Ryan's dollar total or win total, then I'll play.

Hey Howard, want to grab a beer with us? Come on, all the cool kids are doing it.

As for the big gaps, every golf question is Phil Mickelson, every NCAA football answer from the mid 90s through 2000-something is Miami, and so on.
