It's plenty redneck, and the home of deep-thinkers like Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols.

Brilliant...

A Former NRA President Was Tricked Into Speaking At A Fake High School Graduation
In a speech to the James Madison Academy 2021 graduating class, David Keene, a former NRA president and current board member of the gun rights group, called on the teens to fight those looking to implement tighter gun restrictions.

"I’d be willing to bet that many of you will be among those who stand up and prevent those from proceeding," he said, to a Las Vegas stadium of thousands of socially distanced chairs on June 4.

"An overwhelming majority of you will go on to college, while others may decide their dream dictates a different route to success," said Keene. "My advice to you is simple enough: follow your dream and make it a reality."

Except, they can't. The students aren't real. James Madison Academy doesn't exist.

Without realizing it, Keene was actually addressing his comments to thousands of empty chairs set up to represent the estimated 3,044 kids who should have graduated high school this year and instead were killed by gun violence.

Ahh...the ol' "Good Guy With A Gun"...

Bystander Who Intervened in Shooting of Officer Was Fatally Shot by Police
A bystander who intervened in the shooting of a police officer in Colorado on Monday by shooting the gunman was himself fatally shot by a responding police officer, the authorities said on Friday.
Mr. Troyke returned to his truck to retrieve an AR-15, the police said. He then returned to the square, where he was confronted by the bystander, Johnny Hurley, 40, who shot him with a handgun, according to the police.

“Almost immediately after” Mr. Hurley shot Mr. Troyke, a responding officer encountered Mr. Hurley, who was now holding the AR-15, and shot him, Chief Strate said.
When you shoot a dude who killed a cop, you probably don't want to immediately pick up that guy's AR15.

There was a scene in "Repo Man" - guy holds up a liquor store, but the cashier and a bunch of customers are also armed. Ends up with a whole pile of dead guys.

But that was a comedy.

There's also a scene like that in 'Hell or High Water' when they rob a bank, and a bunch of the bank customers pull out their guns.

University of Utah football player and sophomore Aaron Lowe was shot and killed at a party Saturday.

He was the recipient of the first Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship.

Ty Jordan, University of Utah football player and freshman, dies after he (apparently accidentially) shot himself last Christmas.

(My daughter's friends were at the party Saturday where Lowe was killed. Luckily my daughter is sick and didn't go.)

And they were high school teammates, IIRC.

Stricter controls should have been enacted at least 40ish years ago when this happened

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Ysidr ... s_massacre

I assuming the death toll will need to be around 100 at a GOP fund raiser for anything to ever change

The anniversary of the Strip shooting is tomorrow. Four years. In some ways, it feels like days.

Those fuckers use the Holocaust as a pro-gun argument. There's no leap of logic or shameful position that's too much for them.

Seems as good as place as any to post this...local mail carrier shot and killed in my city: https://www.9news.com/article/news/crim ... 49b02395f5

That neighborhood has some of the most expensive houses in the city...can't wait to see what the motive turns out to be.

Today's Republicans: Against kids learning history, totally fine with kids getting killed at school.

And isn't it disgusting/appalling/infuriating that 3 kids getting gunned down barely makes a ripple these days?

My sister is a teacher and texted me today to ask about preventative measures she can bring into her classroom.

I've taken active shooter training classes and done drills on it. A fire extinguisher is good to have. So is a high powered flashlight. And any sort of emergency door stopper is good too.

Also if it's happening, turn off the lights and barricade the door. That's just off the top of my head.

Greatest country in the world, my ass.

Gawd, how depressing is this? (Rittenhouse withdrew from his newly-registered classes as soon as the trial was over, so it's a moot point, anyway).

And, how about that sign on the right, given what happened a couple days ago in Michigan?

Liberals still haven't figured out that when they get outraged over nothingburgers like what school a shitbag like Rittenhouse enrolls in then the right will do everything they can to get under their skin about it.

And really, it was a small percentage of people who got mad, but it was inflamed to make it seem like all of Arizona State was against this. So the media for sure should be chastised about this, but they won't.

I agree with the parent. Are you not supposed to look at ammunition? The kid might like guns. Now youre definitely not supposed to shoot up a school but to me looking at ammunition and shooting up a school are pretty much unrelated.

Might take a look but I watched a video from my kids school last year where everyone talked about their vacations and what they did. Blah, blah, blah then one kids starts talking about shooting from a banana clip for a few minutes. Great... Johnny. Sounds like a nice vacation. Brother and I watched that thing twenty times. Dont see much difference other than what occurred after the fact. Some people like guns. Some kids like guns. Not sure thats any reason to prosecute a parent but then all ive seen was the twitter clip. And this is why I hate prosecutors. She said that like she proved something. L-O-L. Just be a prosecutor. Its enough. You dont need your face plastered all over the news.
