The Finals 2016

Post by howard »

Ok, I have almost no interest in the Ghostbusters reboot. But I would watch a version starring Melo, Porziņģis, Spike Lee and Walt Frazier.

I have a theory. If your team relies on JR Smith, like you have him on the floor at the end of games, you are not going to win a championship.

So, Harrison Barnes decided it isn't too late for his free agency salary drive.

is this thing on?

So switching the 7-footers onto Curry worked so well for OKC, Tyrone decided to go with that.

I can do this all week. (no I can't, even I get tired of my own bs)

Man, what a disappointing start for Cleveland. If they can't steal game 1 under the circumstances, they're in trouble.

Cavs have weathered the storm, never lost contact. Kyrie has had to work like hell for his points, but managed to get them. Managed to get Klay in foul trouble. Love playing well and hitting shots. They have a lot to feel good about. What I wouldn't feel good about, twice Bron had Curry trying to check him, backed him to within 14 feet, with the dribble, and didn't even take a shot. Twice.

But they are in OK shape for the second half. 52-43.

If Harrison Barnes ever played two good halves offensively since he wore the sky blue, I missed it. I expect him to disappear from that end of the court, as usual.

Cavs have played poorly and are down 9. On the other hand Steph and klay have played poorly and the dubs are up 9.

And in a logo battle, it's a golden state rout.

Back the fuck up, delly. Flagrant 1.

Oh my what Steph did to Bron there, before the nut shot.

And Shump, calm your teammate down. Stay the fuck out of the face of the other team.

Steven Adams's bruised testicles (and I) agree with you. That was a hell of a lot less flagrant than Green's kick.

No-look bounce pass from Steph for Iggy dunk, to go up 20. That backbreaker should wrap up this one, with five minutes left.

Cleveland has played bad. But again, golden states best players have been bad tonight. I do think Cleveland really fucked with curry, but who knew Livingston would be Michael Jordan tonight. I think Cleveland still has a real shot. But I'm a duh.

And in the third. Cleveland had a 1 point lead, with the ball and 1:50 left in the 3rd quarter. But by that point he had Irving and Love on the bench, Cleveland didn't score another point, and Golden State closed the quarter on a 7-0 run. Lue needs to find a way to set his rotations so that he plays the bench but also has at least two of James, Love and Irving on the floor at all times. Otherwise, their offense is way too weak.

Dubs countered the double teams and general overplaying on Curry as well as humanly possible tonight, all the back cut dunks and layups. Beautiful passing. You can't count on them doing this as well the rest of the week. But you also cannot count on Klay being ice cold for much longer.

Yup. That's what I am saying. Cleveland played bad but he two barometers for he warriors did too. So there's no way to take much from this that says Cleveland is either toast or still in it. Livingston won't be superman all series but like you said, klay and curry won't be total shit either.

Yeah, I agree with you the Cavs have a real shot. The tendency to write teams off after one bad loss (OKC in game 1 vs Spurs is exhibit A) is silly.

Will Mark Jackson start hyping Livingston for Finals MVP in Game 2, or will he wait one more game? He and Van Gundy love to talk up the impact of Livingston and Barbosa because they are the only new rotation players on last year's title team who weren't there when Jackson was coach. Clearly the dynamic Livingston-Barbosa reserve backcourt was responsible for the 16-win increase that season, and it had nothing to do with firing Mark Jackson.

Why is everyone so intent on giving the Cavs the benefit of the doubt based on a small sample size in a garbage conference? Cleveland struggled to get the 1 seed in an inferior conference and now they're just as likely to beat the Warriors in a 7 game series? No.
