From an NHL story on William Karlsson facing the Blue Jackets tonight talking about the standing-room only crowds at VGK practices. Emphasis mine.
Do you guys usually get this many people out just to watch a practice?

"Usually it's packed. It makes me wonder if people work here. I don't know. Maybe they just work at night. We always have people at practices, and they seem really interested. It's been pretty chaotic sometimes, actually, but it's good to see they're interested and they seem to enjoy it."

I'm late to this thread, but really, this team's success is unprecedented in sports history.

Old enough to remember how putrid the early years Senators and (even worse) capitals were.

Who is this team's GM?

A guy who excelled at building very good regular season teams in DC.

Not where you were going with this I realize but it remains funny the amount of animosity from Caps fans towards the Knights because of McPhee.

I'm not a true fan, because I don't get bent out of shape about McPhee, I guess. I mean, no one should ever let him forget Forsberg, but beyond that, he made multiple moves and choices that put together a team that just on paper and by most accounts on ice should've brought home a Cup.

I really put it on the Young Guns for not figuring out earlier that their days as hot shit pro's were finite.

I going to assume you are predicting a VGK first round exit and not failure to make the playoffs. We don't have props for which level of the playoffs they reach yet but do have failure make playoffs prop up:
Wash to win Cup 12/1
VGK to not make playoffs 13/1
We can't parlay those here but I believe you can somewhere off-shore. Using those odds a $20 bet would yield $3,120

Calgary is the last Western Conference team to play Vegas, but it's on tonight.

As I stated before, this is the pivotal road swing of the season -- six games in 10 days. If Vegas can get 6 or 7 points from this road trip, I'll be happy and the Pacific Division should be there for the taking.

Vegas makes more fans Not Mad Online. (Just busting your balls a little. That tying goal was lucky as shit.)

You guys see this quote from Ovechkin about the crowds in Vegas?
“It’s the atmosphere over there,” Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin said during All-Star weekend. “It’s not a regular rink. It’s like an unbelievable show. You get excited. It’s like you’re in a nightclub. It’s like a party. Everybody dancing ... it’s like, are we in a hockey game or is this a pool party out there?"
I don't know how similar it will be next year (very, hopefully), but some of y'all need to plan a trip down here for a game next season.

He did follow up with more on the team's actual play in a very complimentary fashion.

Went to the game last Thursday. Was a lot of fun. Only got to stay for the first and second period, but the first period was legitimately exciting for being 0-0. Will definitely go to games if Seattle gets a team. The visceral feeling of being there live is unbelievably important (like literally, I didn't believe it was that important, it is). Too bad watching it on TV is like 10% as good.

Yeah, that's the reason I'm in a season ticket group. This season I'm in for a dozen games. But, my daughter is my going-to-games buddy, and with her going to college in the fall, I'm going to have to cut it back by a few games.

Instead of practicing, the Knights spent yesterday working with Cirque du Soleil performers and strength trainers.

Bellemare had an observation that most of us who live here have been trying to drive home forever.
They had no idea what was waiting for them in Las Vegas, but they, like most of the world, guessed it was going to be a little sleazy, a little tacky and about the worst place in the world to bring up kids and play hockey.

Wrong.

“I was not expecting this,” said Bellemare. “It’s so much better. When I first got the news I was, ‘How do you raise a family there?’ But 85 per cent of the world has no idea what Vegas is all about. You come here and see the communities, they are unbelievable. There is no point being on the strip. The restaurants all around town are unbelievable and they’re made for the locals, and if you want to have a crazy night out, you go on the Strip.

As much as I'm a believer in this team and think they're going to be a tough out in the playoffs, "Vegas is favorites to win the President Trophy" still feels like kind of a hot take at this point. Talk to me at the end of the month and we'll see what the standings look like.

Waited too long and can't find the Fleury shirtsy I wanted in anything other than "at least 2 dudes sharing one shirt" size. I think I'm just going to get an updated Malkin t-shirt since my old one is from prior to the return to Pittsburgh gold (yellow, meaning the logo is "Vegas gold"). Plus I took to wearing that shirt on consecutive gym days at some point during the playoffs last spring and the stank never fully washed out.

I don't think AV is anything close to the worst coach, but I'd put his job this season up against anyone else in terms of worst coaching performance. Like how the fuck do you play Girardi top pair only to admit its better to pay him not to be on the team then turn around and elevate Nick Fucking Holden to that role, on his off-side, and then trade him for only a low 3rd? And why isn't anyone stopping this?

The Rangers just don't have the horses. They are rebuilding.

Calgary has top-end talent but the coach can't get anything out of them. Gaudreau is 2nd in the league in points. Monahan has 27 goals. Defense of Giordano, Hamilton, Brodie and Hamonic matches anyone else's top 4 and Smith has played lights out in net. Yet they are 30-31 (30-22-9). Special teams are a joke for a team like this. 22nd in both PP and PK. Rangers are 8th in PP and 15th in PK for a team with nobody.

Watching Vegas a lot more. They get the best out of everyone and Gallant has that team believing in itself.

Derek Stepan, horrible as that trade made as a standalone was, isn't the difference between 102 points and tear it all down.

Everyone's a year older, and looking out of gas. Hasn't Lundqvist played the most games out of all goalies? He's breaking down facing 30+ shots a game.

if you fire AV in the offseason, Flames should take him in a heartbeat. We're not rebuilding.

Stats don't at all back up "out of gas", most guys are more or less on pace with last year with Nash down, Buchnevich up more and Hayes trading assists for goals. Add Stepan or any 1C back into the hole and the offense is better than last year. Whats wrong is they're playing a really bad defensive system and have the wrong players in the wrong roles for the wrong TOI. AV will forever get the benefit of "look at how many points his teams averaged" but no one ever backwards assesses the talent his Canucks and Rangers had and asks if Babcock or Quenneville would conceivably be ringless with them.
