Just shocking - nearly relegated in 2015. Champions in 2016. Facing possible relegation in 2017.

Good stats on Peter Crouch's 100 goals (one of the slowest to hit the mark and the oldest to hit hte mark)
http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... s-in-stats

I like the goal breakdown the best (95 in the box, 48 from the head--Premier league record,43 right footed, only1 PK)

Do they keep stats for whatever the cooler term for "not PK" goals are?

So, the games based in London on the weekend of March 4 have both been moved away from Saturday, which means those no longer work for my schedule. I know there's a lot of Gunners on here. Any of you fellas have tips for getting 2 seats to the March 11 game vs. Leicester? I'd rather not buy an Arsenal membership if I don't have to.

This Hazard goal could have gone in the Great Goals thread. Incredible run. At one point, around :08 into this vid, Hazard is the only Chelsea player in the view, with 6 Gunners plus the goalie.

Not a bunch of talk about the African Cup of Nations but a pretty good story about the background of the tournament's top player.

I don't know much about Airdrieonians (Scottish First Division Club)...but

1.) They have opened a sensory room for disabled children who want to go to the games (Waterford and Sunderland have them too).
http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... d-children
2.) They put one of their fans picture on the front of their shirt after he passed from Cancer (which they are getting celebs to sign to support point 1 above)

That is fantastic!
The Scottish League One side have already sold out of the new replica shirts, including to fans of others sides in Scotland such as Motherwell, Aberdeen and Rangers, and are taking orders from around the world, with at least another 80 confirmed purchases. The club usually only sells around 150 shirts each season.

Now 3:0. DiMaria again. This time from the run of play. Can't believe how not high his free kick goal was, that had to clear a Barca wall.

Mike Piazza Learns How to Be an Owner. Of a Soccer Team. In Italy.
REGGIO EMILIA, Italy — Mike Piazza was jet-lagged and hungry, though you wouldn’t have known it from his smile as he navigated the obstacle course of hugs, kisses and handshakes.

“Hey! Ciao! Good to see you!” he said.

It has been 10 years since Piazza, 48, retired from baseball as one of the best-hitting catchers in history. It is common for stars of his stature to try out second careers in broadcasting, or simply to luxuriate in endless rounds of golf. Piazza last year decided he would become the majority owner of a third-division Italian soccer club, Reggiana.

Sounds like he's having a great time.
Noting that he had met with groups aiming for expansion franchises in Major League Soccer before buying Reggiana, he said: “I’d rather be poor in Italy than based in St. Louis. You can’t get a good meal there!”

No longer on Sutton. Offered his resignation for eating on the bench; which was offered at 8-1 and he knew it.

That seems really unfair to that dude. If sports book takes wagers on things that players have 100% control of, how do they not affect the outcome? Couldn't you just as easily have bet that he won't eat on the bench? (maybe not, I don't know) Once that bet exists, and once he's made aware of it (and you can't blame someone for knowing a publicly-available fact), the bet is tainted.

I don't see this as any different than betting on the length of the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Everyone knows that bet exists, including, I'm sure, the singer. They can control the outcome.

If it's a problem and sports books get burned, well stopping taking those sorts of bets.
