Holy shit that hurt. Still hurts, actually.
My daughter fell in the backyard on Sunday, I ran out to help here and the steps separated from the side of the deck. I am in pain.

That's what you get for not lifting with your back.

Been stuck in Texas for over a week trying to get back to Vegas but it could be worse. Af least I’m not anywhere near that crap.

While the Sierras are getting several feet of snow, apparently this could be the first year in recorded weather history (since late 1800s) with no measurable snow all year in the Triangle. Not even a trace amount.

I’m getting really nervous with this forecast calling for 2-3 inches of rain tomorrow. Last time we got 3 inches, I had 400+ gallons seep into my guest room, took 6 people fighting it for 5 hours, then me for another few hours to keep up.

Got a portable sump pump set up and some sandbags, hoping it’s enough. We got over an inch a few weeks ago, and the water was bordering on flooding, but I was able to wet vac the pooling areas outside. Planning on an afternoon of vacuuming the patio in a deluge. Have water remediation scheduled for mid April, was really hoping we wouldn’t have a problem before then. Have to rip up the driveway, install drains and run pipes under the driveway. About the same price as sending a kid to college for a year.

On the plus side, it’s supposed to stop by 7:00pm. Every time we’ve had issues, it rained until 3 or 4 am, so at least I won’t be up late dealing with this shit. Starting around 3 or 4 tonight, I should be ok through the morning.

So far my sandbag channel is working! I have a nice creek running across my patio and down the driveway angled away from the house. Rain has been consistently around .15 inches/hour since 3:00 am, and nothing in my sump pump hole at all, and nothing near the sliding door that is stupidly flush with the ground. 1:00 is the test. Weather Channel app was saying .45 inches/hour for 2 hours, but that is now down to .3 inches, so I'm cautiously optimistic. I hate that I have to look at the hourly rainfall and have a very strong sense what it all means. Woke up every hour or so all night and kept checking. Total forecast reduced to 1-2 inches, but I don't know if they remove what fell before.

We're supposed to get some storms later today to go on top of the 1.5+ inches of rain that have fallen the last two days, which fell on already very soggy ground. At this rate, I won't be able to cut my grass for another month.

Power cut until tomorrow afternoon because wind. Got a little jet boil fuel to cook with and also may throw a burrito in my fireplace. It’ll be the boredom that gets me.
