Diameter is 28mm, just over 1 inch.

We're all waiting for King William on our money.
Not me. Certainly not me. I'm waiting for the day when the inbred unelected foreign nationals are permanently the fuck off of our money, stamps and everything else soiled with their unwelcome hideous likenesses.
We have to solve the unelected Senate first. Can't even manage that.

After the fall and reconstruction, when I take my rightful place as chancellor of the exchequer and director of the mint, ima gunna put Diana Spencer on the money. Just for Scottie.

Yes, Rush, Rush are authentic Canadians to boot. Also the only stamps I've ever seen featuring some naked guy's backside. (The Hip stamps are pretty suave, too.)

And, yeah, Syb. My feelings toward the so-called monarchy in England are akin, if not far more outraged, than that of Americans circa 1775-83. Somewhere a perfectly good guillotine sadly remains unused.

Today is consecutive day 36 without any rain at all. Not a drop. Very unusual for this vicinity; hasn't happened since records started to be kept. The forest fire danger index thingy is off the charts. I blame it on Anthropogenic Global Drying.

Aah, mid-August, and the sunlight has that telltale orange glow.

It must be fire season!

Talk about records that will never be broken. Las Vegas received at least a trace amount of rain today for the 20th straight day. The previous record was 12 days. (And it will likely move to 21 tomorrow before we finally get a dry weekend.)

Monday early morning it supposedly got down to 39 degrees. Today, it was in the 90s and humid as fuck.

Cleveland set record highs the last two days with it topping out at 95 degrees. The forecast high for Friday is 61.

That's incredible. We've had a relatively wet week or two, can't imagine that kind of streak here.

Weather has been amazing here. In the 80s every day for a few weeks now and to continue for the next two weeks.

And it's about 100F here every day without a breath of wind. It's as if Vegas and Vancouver traded weather.

Low of 41 tonight in Cleveland.

Feels like fall is coming one month early.

I had to scrape ice off my windshield last week.

I guess it's time to move down from the mountains and back to our real house in the valley.

First snow showers of the season this morning, which coincided with me finishing off the last of my stash of summer blueberries. Blah. I miss summer.

About 1.5 inches of snow fell last night, and another 3-5 inches are predicted for today. It's a very heavy and wet snow, so I wouldn't be surprised if I lose power at some point today. Awesome.

Low to mid-60s here to day. Bright sunshine. Love how the sunlight shines off the snows of the 14'ers.

Temperature to fluctuate between 20 and 34 degrees.

5-8" snow, plus freezing rain/sleet. Get ready for the power lines to freeze & go down.

Yippee.

Good thing is that HDO's weather report is actually from 5 years ago, so central Ohio should be ok this week.

How'd you come out? We only got 2-3" on the west side of Indy, but I drove up from southern IN yesterday afternoon and it was a shitstorm. Whole truck was coated in a half inch of ice.

The NCAA volleyball games are postponed tonight - wonder if Ohio U. (shout out Sabo) was planning on coming down today since I heard a few of the Cincinnati Ohio River bridges are shut down. It's not bad in Lexington yet but the newspeeps are calling for near disaster.

I have no idea. I've been busy this week and kind of forgot about the OU volleyball team making the NCAAs.

But anyway, go Bobcats.

50-60 last weekend. -9 when I got in the car this morning. 1 currently.

Cold snap is supposed to run through the weekend (good luck Peyton (lolz)) and then mid 30s - 40s next week. The joke when I was growing up in Vermont was if you didn't like the weather wait a few hours, but CO has that beat.

The news of the deluge was greatly exaggerated.

Local newsteams trying to out-news each other. They all have people, standing in parking lots, showing how much snow is on the cars. Fuck, I can look out my window and see that. But, it keeps people watching, and advertising money flowing.

People need to clear the snow/ice off of their roofs before driving. Pisses me off to no end while driving down the Garden state Parkway and seeing slabs of snow/ice hurtling towards your windshield. I've seen accidents caused by people swerving to avoid the incoming detritus, and come close myself. Just as I was thinking about this while watching several ice sheets fly off cars a ways up the road from me, my windshield got tagged by a block of snow coming off of the roof of the car in the lane to my left and slightly ahead of me. I'd honk at these idiots, but they are probably oblivious to it. It wasn't too bad today because we only got an inch or so, but the rain freezing the snow makes it potentially hazardous. Can't wait for the big snowfalls!

Here's a solution. DON'T FUCKING GO TO WORK THEN!

"Problem" solved.

I feel like it got better there for a year or two when they changed the law so you could be fined just for having snow on your roof. Mornings like this are bad because there is enough snow to fly off, but not so much that everyone is going to feel compelled to clean off their roofs, especially when it had switched to rain by morning rush time.

It's a balmy -12ºC today. Feels great after the -35 we got all last week.
Of course it's warm enough to snow again so the streets are white.

It's snowing here. Which means that there is not a fucking chance in hell that I'm talking a vehicle near the streets. The drivers here can't handle dry August weather. Snow? Completely out of the question.
