I don't think I've been to Kenilworth, just see it on the GSP when we're heading south. Good looking menu though, so maybe we'll check it out on some trip back.

National bad weekend was also a local bad weekend: https://www.nj.com/essex/2019/08/jilted ... s-say.html

To my knowledge, we didn't know the family or au pair involved, but its in the immediate neighborhood and a place we walk past weekly.

NJ dudes, you should check this out. He's great live. It wasn't acoustic when I saw him, but it's in my top 3 shows of all time.

For the pedantic among us, I’ll admit that we’re venturing beyond North Jersey with this one, but we had lunch at a cafe in Flemington today called Grateful Bites. It’s a non-profit that is in part staffed by, and where the proceeds go to, the differently abled, via this organization.

The place was adorbs (a lot of reclaimed wood) and the food and baked goods were really good.

I saw it was on NJ side, but OK.

Was hoping it would engulf Morristown.

Yeah, I had to Google it. With no koalas at risk, nobody cares about a forest fire in NJ.

Just Monday. In service to prepare plans for an actual extended closure. Mt Olive is doing the same.

On Thursday we announced we were out until March 30th. On Friday, case confirmed in East Hanover. Don’t think we will be back on the 30th.

The Vietnamese restaurant in our town center, which I swear they’ve been working on for over a year and which looked like it was ready open just in time for my birthday back at the beginning of March, is finally opening for takeout tomorrow. I’ll definitely give them a try this week.

There is a soul food restaurant and a Mexican restaurant (the latter almost literally at the end of my street) that both appeared to be on track to be open by now under normal circumstances. Both are currently dark. I’d say that there are more restaurants that are still open and making a go of takeout only than have closed up completely, but there have been multiple closures.

Taste of Flava? I was hoping they would be doing curbside. When we threw their plantains on their jollof rice, it was magic. If it doesn’t reopen, I’m gonna miss that place.

Taste of Flava is doing curbside (or walk to the door and stand outside while they run your card and get your food) pickup and seems to be pretty busy.

Our downtown ice cream place re-opened over the weekend. They're the nicest, and very involved in town. That's good.

Got a bahn mi a couple of weeks ago. Good, but not as good as the place in Edison I've mentioned a couple of times. Would definitely order again. The local place's Vietnamese ice coffee was better though. Really good.

Don't tell my kids, they were begging to go yesterday. I was imagining a large crowd outside the door, wasn't ready to run that risk yet. Hopefully soon. Sucks to live so close, and we haven't been since moving.

ETA: I should say I haven't been. My parents took the kids every day when they were visiting.

So no crowds because you can only order online to pickup a half hour later. Very structured.

Been a couple of times and ordered takeout once during Q but finally got the hot chicken sandwich today (in part because they are selling flour and yeast and I’m almost out of the latter and haven’t lucked into it at the supermarket since I started looking 3 weeks ago). Excellent, and the roll was a house made work of love that was more than up to the rigors or takeout.
