Justice Department Phasing out Private Prisons

Just at the federal level. The mere idea of for profit prisons is enough to make a decent person's skin crawl.

This'll be a short thread.

I file this as 'believe it when I see it'. Easy enough for the next president to reverse this policy reversal. CCA stock fell by more than half on the news. They'll have to write a check to Hillary/DNC/CGI, and magically this will disappear next february or so.

But yeah, private prisons are a horrible idea, ranking with private 'charter' schools. And I recently read that CCA (or maybe another big prison contractor) makes a big chunk of their profit on immigration shelters/housing facilities. Crap like this is so routine nowdays, I can't keep up.
