I smell 0-2 in Buffalo and a really, really ugly crowd.

Read that fans had been in the parking lots for 2 days getting ready for this game. A home opener, night game against a hated rival in Buffalo... last time that happened, two Bills fans died.

Didn't the Bills defense used to be a thing?

Under Schwartz, it was a real big deal.

Then defensive mastermind Rex Ryan came in, fiddled around with it - switching to a 3-4 and an entirely different style which almost immediately had fans scratching their heads. Under Schwartz, the defence was constantly in the QBs face. Under Ryan, guys like Mario Williams and were required to drop back into coverage. Multiple schemes are great in theory, but in practice, you've seen the results...

His "system" plainly doesn't work.

And bringing in his brother to be "Assistant Head Coach" smacks of the worst form of nepotism - bringing in a relative whose incompetence has been proven repeatedly.

Cardinals next week, and then the Pats on the road. 0-4 beckons...

Not sure how patient frack master Terry Pegula is, but the clamouring for the Ryans' heads has begun.

I would make a crack about how that won't solve anything, but it actually worked for Detroit last year. Roman definitely didn't seem like he knows what he's doing.

Offence isn't that good, but that's Tyrod Taylor and a really below average receiving corps.

It's a scapegoat move, and as I just read, it fits a pattern. The new OC will be the 5th one under Ryan in 6 seasons.

This morning on Buffalo sports talk radio, a lot of callers were calling for Ryan's head and a popular choice to step in was Roman.

Well, it's early in the season, but it's already "Wait 'til next year" for Bills fans.

Tyrod Taylor averaged nearly 8 YPA, completed > 63% of his passes and had a greater than 3:1 TD/INT ratio in 2015

but sure, the scheme was bad

My buddy Dave's Uncle Rog, prison guard at Attica, degenerate gambler, pounder of Molsons, Canadian ballet connoisseur, and lifelong Buffalonian HATES Rex Ryan. He begged us to take the Jets last night. Good looking out, Uncle Rog!

Taylor had some good games, but he really doesn't seem that good.

Which makes all the credit to Roman for making him look more than merely competent. This move is so transparently ridiculous - the team's problem last season wasn't offence. It was defence and special teams (and overall discipline). No one is fooled by this, Ryan's honeymoon ended midseason last year and there were tons of guys like Uncle Rog. My brother developed an early and seemingly irrational hatred for Ryan. He now looks like Nostradamus.

Where this stings for Bills fans is that after the 2014 season things were finally looking up. A great defence - Schwartz became a cult hero in Buffalo and the team went 9-7 with Manuel and Orton at QB. And they fired a really unpopular coach in Doug Marrone.

The implosion has begun.

Getting Ugly In Bills Country

Jerry Sullivan is the nastiest reporter in Buffalo. This column is gold.
Real tough guy, that Rex Ryan. As soon as things got a little hot for the Bills' head coach, he proved what a fraud he really is by throwing Greg Roman under the bus. He presides over one of the most embarrassing defensive performances in Bills history and scapegoats his top offensive assistant as a result?

Wow. And you know who looks really foolish here? Terry Pegula, the sainted owner. I've thought from the start that Pegula had no clue about how to run a professional sports franchise. But I didn't think he was capable of a move this sleazy and transparent.
Shame on the Pegulas, and Russ Brandon, and Doug Whaley, and Ryan and anyone else who stood by and watched this happen. Despite what Pegula wants to believe, this is a 17-year run of dysfunction, and throwing one assistant coach in the volcano hasn't fixed things before.

The Bills continue to be the laughingstock of the NFL. Pegula should be embarrassed for his franchise. If he's serious about wanting to get this right, if the man has any clue, this should be only the start.

I don't understand this joke at all. Does it mean they're going to start banging black guys on the Patriots?

And is there a single good reason the Rams just wear their old-school Eric Dickerson-era unis as often as allowed?

It means they are falling in love with Jacoby Brissett. Because he's black. And because their racist fathers hate black dudes. It's not that hard to decifer, LeVonn Jam the 3rd.
