Hoboken Train Crash

Post by mister d »

This one could be really bad. It looks like it went straight into the station itself and if its around track 5-6 like it looks, depending on timing, there's a ton of foot traffic going to/from the PATH trains there.

I saw something on Twitter about the train crash and immediately thought of elflaco. I hope he's OK.

On a normal, not-my-kid's-birthday day I would have been getting in about 15 minutes after this happened. I had no idea Flaco was in that area.

I don't know for certain he is, but I know he takes the NJ trains a lot.

I can't even imagine the mental process of being on the train and going from typical nothing to "this seems too fast" out of the tunnel to realizing what's about to happen.

thanks for your concern... Mrs flaco is holding plublic hearings in baltimore for her client thru saturday so i'm working from home and playing mr. mom
i work in Chelsea and live in that nebulous area between north and south jersey - so i commute through penn station then walk down 8th.

was just emailing back and forth with my team's managers as we do have folks that commute through hoboken daily. all appear ok and counted for.

looks pretty bad though. NJT, penn station.. the whole system is ripe for bad stuff to happen.

Still only two confirmed dead which, all things considered, seems like an outstanding result.

I can't think of a better use of a terrorist's life than ramming a train into a concrete platform. Is he imaging a ground level train driving through the floor of the station? Is he aware of how trains and tracks work? I seriously hate this guy.

::bad thing happens::

::conservative reads the news...sees Obama is still president::

"Terrorism!"

It's literally that. And these people are allowed to vote and disseminate their bullshit and they are given credibility when they are brought on tv which allows other like-minded mouth breathers to think they are experts and Fox News, Breitbart, The Blaze, etc..get money for clicks and ratings.

This is a terrible analogy given that the train didn't miss the station. It more like accidentally puncturing her lung or something.

The sex act existed long before the actual train crash. Sent my friend to the hospital, happened in Hoboken, too.

After making my joke, I realized I hadn't heard from several friends who take NJ Transit to Hoboken on their commute. I commuted from that station every day for 5 years, and I have no remorse for my joke. Make you feel better, Johnnie?

30 hours later I still can't fathom how only one person was killed. I think there are going to be some pretty devastating injuries that come out later, but still ... 1 dead.

(If you haven't read about her, don't. Its really fucking sad.)
