At that age, probably doesn't matter with the control most kids have. Could stand up there and never take the bat off your shoulder and have a .650 OBP if you wanted to. We were in leagues where it was all pitching machines until age 11, which I liked.

I don't ever remember seeing a real home run until the next level up when the 12 year olds starting putting me out of my misery. We probably didn't even play on fenced fields 90% of the time.
