Seriously, how many PA tilting pitches are these HP umps going to miss by full baseball gap?

Man, what a huge play by Bregman. That's gotta be it for Morton, right?

Most recent? Headley clearly low so it’s 1-2 instead of 2-1. The expected outcome swing is enormous.

I was stumbling on 'PA'.

This'll sound weird, but once Girardi went out to complain about Morton touching his gum, the calls got tighter on CC (who really had nothing to begin with), and almost sympathetic for Morton.

I hate talking like that, so I'll stop.

I'll just throw this board on the fire:

Espada sending Bird on that grounder to 3rd was about as bad of a decision as they come.

I can live with the send only because the play was close and Bregman cannot throw a ball better than he did. It works 90% of the time.

Not sure who I'll root for,* but I hope Kershaw and Verlander both ball out. Few sports things annoy me more than when great players are criticized for not having won a championship or small sample size postseason results.

*I'll probably root for the Dodgers because I have red hair, a beard and was born in 1984, which probably means Justin Turner should be my favorite player.

You're using a pre-determined outcome. The only decision to make there was that once the ball was hit to 3B, he needed to get back to the bag. If this were Didi or Gardner? Sure. I bet Bregman doesn't even throw to the plate in those scenarios.

I'll root for the Astros v the Dodgers. I don't think anybody needs to see the Astros hungrier/more focused than they are right now. Plus, added bonus that a championship should make things a bit more expensive for Houston going forward.

I’m using “we saw a slow dude only thrown out by an absolutely perfect throw”, nothing else. Sometimes you give credit.

I’m finding it hard to hate anyone here beyond McCann. Either I’m soft or this squad is ok enough.

Either Curtis Granderson or Justin Verlander will win a World Series. I feel good about that.

That said I’m absolutely rooting for the Astros.

I need to look at it a bit more, but I’m leaning that ya too. “Fuck Dave Roberts” is outpacing “Kershaw gets one so he’s not another all-timer who gets blamed” right now.

One team has Puig. The other has Altuve. I am happy to see either win it.

I'm here, as well. Keg its an awesome guy, but the sheer number of asshole Dodger fans I met in my time in LA more than offsets it.

And hey, it would be okay for TT and Giff for the 'Stros to win.

I made that joke for decades ... then last April I went to my first game at Dodger Stadium. I left my hotel, about ten miles from the Stadium, something like ninety minutes before the game.

I got there in the second inning anyway.

Right. After going to the game a few weeks ago (on a Saturday to boot), I won't ever make that joke again either. We left the hotel two and a half hours early, were also only about 12 miles away, and still took well over an hour to get to the stadium exit - then to park and walk in, it was 90 minutes from hotel to seat and that point we were an hour early, but if we hadn't left when we did, we would likely have been late judging on the back-up that was occurring as we were walking in. I also hadn't realized how close the stadium is to downtown LA - had thought it was out away from the city a bit.

Last year during the NLCS we finally learned the way to do it - take the Dodgers Express bus from Union Station. The bus has a special lane so it can get into the stadium faster than cars or taxis. Plus it's a lot of fun.

The bus still has to wait for traffic leaving the stadium, which sucks, but at least you can get there without too much hassle.

I have to say, the Dodgers fans at the NLCS games last year were so friendly with us, despite the fact that the Cubs had basically knocked the Dodgers out in the two games we attended. I am definitely rooting for them to win it this year.

Just go early, grab street parking on Sunset, hit up the Short Stop for happy hour, then walk to the stadium. If you're lucky, you can get a street dog on the way back to the car.

Of course, I imagine they have overhauled the street meter parking there in the last several years.
