Hell of a season. 114 wins. A Pennant. Two full months of near-invincibility. Winning Game Six at home and hearing the Stadium crowd. Yeah, it sucks to lose, but really, there have not been many better seasons.

I think the single coolest-story from this World Series is the Mattress Mack(?) guy who sheltered people during Harvey who was on the hook for $10M worth of stuff if the Astros won the World Series so instead of taking out insurance he decided to hedge by betting millions of dollars on the Astros to win the World Series.

He also flew 86 people out to LA for game 6. He's been a staple in Houston since my childhood.

My buddy used to manage a hotel right across from NRG about 10 years ago. We split season tickets that year and we were pulling into the lot to park. Out of nowhere comes running this coked up looking dude headed from the hotel back to the stadium and I had to slam on my breaks. He just looked at us, laughed, and kept on running. My friend looks at me "did you just almost run over Mattress Mack?"

There's longtime rumors of drug and hooker use, so wouldn't surprise me.
