One of the inventors of rock and roll. Through Fats Domino you can go directly from delta blues to the Beatles, Rolling Stones and pretty much any contemporary rock group.

I don't know why I thought of this, but back in the 1970s, anti-gay activist Anita Bryant said in an interview that music lyrics in the 1950s were much more chaste and didn't contain sexual innuendo. So, the interviewer slyly asked her then, "So, what do you suppose WAS the thrill that Fats Domino found on Blueberry Hill?

(I inexplicably tie Fats Domino to the Sundae School in Dennisport on Cape Cod. I'm sure "Blueberry Hill" or something was playing there once or something, but I haven't thought about one and not the other in like 25 years.)

"Tutti Frutti" would have made her head explode. Especially the original version -

Tutti Frutti, good booty
If it's tight, it's all right
And if it's greasy, it makes it easy

Paul McCartney wrote a song he said was inspired by Fats, and performed it doing his best Fats Domino impression. So, Fats covered it, imitating Paul imitating him:
