That sounds fantastic, need to check it out. Started watching the Eric Andre show. It's my go-to when I am too high to focus on anything else. 2-minute bits of pure insanity are the perfect amount of time. I can't imagine what the guests are thinking.

I started listening to Jim Jeffries "I Don't Know About That." Jim is one of my favorite comedians, and if you like Jim you'll like this. Weird premise, they have a guest expert speak about a topic every episode. It starts with Jim trying to guess the topic by looking at the expert and their office (all Zoom guests). Then Jim answers a series of questions to see how much he knows about a topic. When he doesn't, he confidently answers with hilarious made up facts. This is the gold of the show. Then the expert answers the questions while Jim chimes in with zingers. Some of the guests are interesting, but it's mostly just Jim's quick wit with no chance to prepare.

The Ringer's Justin Sayles has a podcast called The Wedding Scammer that I'm enjoying right now.

It's about how he stumbled into the orbit of a con man and what he did to track him down. It's a 7 part series and part 5 just came out.

Shannon Doherty's new podcast is quite interesting so far. Especially if you are around her age and watched her career. She's fighting stage 4 breast cancer which has spread to her bones so she talks about that and being a advocate for cancer survivors.

Plus all the dirt from the past, why did she get fired from 90210? Why did she get fired from Charmed? Why has she been married 3 times, why did she do Mallrats?

Tara Palmieri has a politics podcast on The Ringer called Somebody's Gotta Win. And I'm just kinda done with it.

I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon because The Ringer had a political podcast called Keepin' It 1600 that eventually became Pod Save America after Trump won. So it seemed like it was worth listening to.

It isn't. She's just fucking annoying. And she keeps hitting on the "OMG BIDEN IS SO OLD" beat with every guest she has since that throws line from the special council came out and when faced with the truth of who Biden will be facing off with, she has a whiney fucking "YEA, BUT..." tone.

She's had Gingrich on and treated him with kid gloves. And she's recently had Meghan McCain on because I guess being the political progeny of John McCain means something. Her latest featured House Rep Philly Democrat Brendan Boyle. Every time he swatted down her nonsense she just kept coming back with something else. It was grating.

Green almost seems surprising to me except it was a kick-ass record and REM probably weren’t considered sellouts by hipsters when Cobain made the list.

Behind The Bastards is going in on Robert E. Lee. 3 of the 4 episodes have been released so far. Very entertaining.

Special guest in the episodes is Propaganda, the rapper, who has his own pretty great podcast called Hood Politics. Very much worth a listen.

Just heard about a podcast called What is Music? Haven't listened yet, but it's a deep dive through an artist's catalog, chronologically I think.

They're on R.E.M. now, 14 episodes in (all at least an hour, some up to two) and they've only made it to Fables of the Reconstruction.

The pod started with Manic Street Preachers, then Muse, Billie Eilish, Radiohead, Lauryn Hill, and now R.E.M.

If you want any True Crime (in the Serial lane), I can fill you hours up.

I don't really like the shows that are weekly where two hosts break down cases each episode. Much more into a limited series that gets deep into a given crime.

That said, I also have a bunch of comedy-based stuff that are mindless but engaging enough to burn down some hours.

(I'm also eyeballing these history podcasts. Might as well learn something beyond cold cases and the Black Dahlia and such.)

Seconded. With over 600 episodes.

There are a few references that carry over from one episode to others, but they have mostly stopped over time.

If you want a random one that may be of some interest to you, I would suggest episode #188, "The Domino's Pizza Story". It's about former Tigers owner Tom Monaghan (and the usual storyteller/commenter roles are reversed).

Or #54 on Cassius Clay.

Brian - If you're looking for a pretty entertaining comedy show that I find addicting: Dumb People Town with the Sklaar brothers and Daniel Van Kirk is pretty consistently funny. Obviously, if the brothers annoy you, stay away. I'm actually not a huge fan of their stand up, but they take things down a bunch of notches on this show so that's not all schtick. And Dan Van Kirk is a delightful human being with Illinois/Wisconsin roots. Love that dude.

I’m with you. I like true crime but I want it more “classic” documentary style not just a couple guys riffing. Send a few my way if you don’t mind.

Ok, well right off the top Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family is INSANE. Centers around the guy strongly suspected to be the Black Dahlia killer, but it's from two of his granddaughters and the family story is FUCKED UP.

I'll go back and look for more.

Dan Van Kirk was always great on the "Doug Loves Movies" podcast as "Mark Wahlberg". The accent was spot on.
