Please tell me that Deuce intends to wear sunglasses at every game he attends, at whatever time of day it is.

Davies’ scars are scary to think about.

I thought Dempsey looked a little stoned on Saturday when they introduced him as a new analyst and wearing the sunglasses today isn’t changing my mind.

Helluva defensive play from Sargent to save the goal. US needs to cash one of these chances.

Did Steffen misplay that? And Sarge is being dangerous at both ends.

I was surprised to learn I had CBS Sports. When I saw the listings, I assumed I'd be watching in Spanish, too.

It means silverware!

(Which neither of us know anything about these days)

Depends on who we play. Mexico is a good win, Costa Rica would be a bad loss. Expectations are already set.

The fun of winning a cup. I think it is important for this young crew to play these kinds of games that matter.

I didn't know if it led to a Confederations Cup berth or anything. I think the earlier rounds impacted WCQ, but I read about it like a year ago and don't remember the details. Right now, I think winning anything would be a huge boost for morale and confidence for this team, OTOH, there are only a handful of guys in the pool that were involved in the 2018 debacle.

Competitive games are important. This tourney is actually a big deal also for cap tying players. Gold cup, world cup were really the only way to do so. Now we have more games that count.

Which reminds me, Musah isn't cap tied yet, is he?

He is. Four matches even friendlies cap ties you I think.

Trinidad and Tobago have been eliminated from the World Cup after being held 0-0 by mighty Bahamas! The US don't have to worry about those guys anymore.

Ream, Yedlin and Acosta are REALLY weird choices. Really weird. Better players on the bench. Tyler Adams for sure. Musah. Even Lleget. I just don't get it.

I mean, there’s not much experience (or any) for a final against Mexico, but....isn’t that what everyone wanted?

Literally, getting Adams, Musah, and others in this game and starting in a game that matters should have been paramount. Also, they are better players too.

My Spanish is weak and rusty, but the Univision commentators seem pretty balanced and just want exciting play. Way less homerism than the gringos coverage.
