I've got a brother-in-law, 5' 10" must weigh 320. Lives in D.C. Outfit of choice is suspenders with khakis, a powder blue shirt and a bow tie.

Nice guy - dresses like he's in the Fox News green room.

Suspenders work for fat guys. Thin guys just look pretentious in them.

What if I just don't want to worry about spilling something on my tie? Does that make a bow tie ok?

That girl definitely put some sort of crazy snapchat filter on that picture. There's no way I look like that much of a sociopath.

So, I’ve had a full beard for awhile and decided to shave it off today. But, I left a little chin goatee and soul patch. My daughter is home on break and I asked her what she thought. She disgustedly replied, “You look like you’re auditioning for Smashmouth.”

I had to laugh.

I shaved it all off.

I'm pretty sure I'm never allowed to shave my beard.

Is this the general clothes thread no matter how metrosexual?

I bought a (very comfortable) thin hoodie from Uniqlo and it's got those holes down near the wrists that you can put your thumbs through. I don't get it.

They're so your sleeves don't ride up when someone asks who has a hoodie that they love.

Those are great when it's cold and you're outside exercising. I kind of like to hold onto something. Odd but it's a real feeling. Sort of like holding hands.

No help. Rented some for my wedding and bought a pair of work suspenders for a Cameron from Ferris bueller’s day off costume. Probably looked like a slob both times.

Shaved with an actual razor and shaving cream for the first time since March 2020 this week. Just been running electric clippers over my cheeks every couple of days or so.

I will just note that the suspenders that button in your pants are classy, but the kind that clip are not. ymmv.

Only suspenders I purchased were in college from the Salvation Army. Busch Beer suspenders. Probably not what you are looking for, but I could dig them out of the attic if you are interested.

Getting the one that button into slacks look better, but require the pants and suspenders as a purchase or a tailor with a quick turnaround.

Anyone have a shaving cream rec for something that comes in a plastic tube or anything more recyclable than a steel canister?

I've been using Cremo. I don't think its too fancy of a brand but I really like it. Comes in a tube.

ETA: It doesn't have a real thick lather, but it works great.

Like the Shave Butter from Dollar Shave Club. A little goes a long way.

All those shave creams (or aloe) noted above are good. I’ve also used a brand called Jack Black (not the actor). It is good too.

Personally, I shave in a hot shower, and thus don’t need shave cream. Just a nice gel aftershave.

And… back to the suspenders, we used to have a top exec in the office who wore suspenders and a belt, at the same time. Looked like such a rube.

I've recently been on a moisturizing kick because my skin gets so dry in the colder months. I think I'll keep it up through the year now. My skin is downright supple!

That picture was my immediate thought, but on second thought I should have gone with "Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty."

I can not overstate how much I hate using an electric razor.

Still on blood thinners for at least another two months, so blade shaving is a no no. And my beard is thick, so it takes me around 15 minutes to shave my head and face and it's never all that close.
