Darts has been an absolute mainstay of sports programming up here since way back when. I have to admit that I enjoy watching the British events and most likely watch more darts than regular season baseball or hockey. The events have an absolutely hysterical atmosphere - highly recommended.
Love their nicknames as well. Phil "The Power" Taylor is the GOAT of the sport.

There are two women entered into the World Darts Championship this year.
And I feel terrible for that guy - crowd was booing the hell out of him for a while.

yeah, Littler had D2 for 5-2 and missed, it's all done downhill since then.

Snooker was absolutely huge in the 70s and 80s. The 1985 World final is still the most watched sporting event on British tv (even more than the 2018 England v Croatia semifinal)
80s were a different time in Britain, most popular sports other than soccer were snooker, cricket, field hockey, squash and track

For years, when we visited relatives in Saskatchewan, it was a tradition that I would go play snooker with my grandfather and my father, while we had a couple pops. I was a lot better back then, but I could never win the day. Still, great memories.
