I hope this doesn't mean I have to like the Giants because Miller's is awesome. Best hamburgers in Michigan. If you go, bring cash because they don't take credit cards.

I don't particular care one way or the other about the Packers, but this quote from the latest Why Your Team Sucks on the Packers is spot on:

Alex:

We are unequivocally the St. Louis Cardinals of the NFL. I hate myself.

There's some good ones in there. Truth bomb!:
I get to pretend that the “public ownership” of our team is pretty awesome, but in reality I am very well aware that if given a democratic vote, the Green Bay Packer shareholders would ban non-whites from the stadium with at least 90% of the vote.

I remember the two times I went how striking it was that everyone not on the field was white.

Holy shit.

I've heard and read that the players and coaches are very unclear as to what the new rules are. These games - especially early in the season - are going to be unwatchable.

I guess they said he was "driving his weight" onto the qb? I saw a similar bullshit call against Carl Lawson last year at one point.

Yeah, I mean the call was bullshit and wrong, but I've seen similar calls before. For years, you've not been allowed to continue to drive into the QB when he's on the ground/going to ground. I'm not ready to declare this the end of football.

There are worse calls in every game than that. Yeah, you can debate the merits of that kind of call sure, but you can't drive QBs into the ground. So don't do it.

Stay classy, Richie Incognito.
Former NFL offensive lineman Richie Incognito is in police custody on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and making threats, a spokesperson for the Scottsdale, Arizona, police department said Tuesday.

According to the police, they were called to Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, where Incognito was making arrangements for his father's funeral.

"Incognito reportedly was upset with staff and began to damage property inside the business and shout at employees. At several points during his contact with staff, Incognito threatened to retrieve guns from his vehicle and return to shoot the employees," according to the police.

He's an asshole and a half, but he definitely has some mental health issues and I'm pretty sympathetic as far as that goes. I hope he gets help.

I genuinely can't stand him, and he's probably always been a bully, but I am guessing the current erratic behavior is gonna look explainable some years down the road when we find out his brain is riddled with evidence of CTE.

Deadspin has the receipts on all the helmet contact calls so far this pre-season. They are all on this post:

Some are "good call". A lot of others are..."What the Fuck". They need to find a way to instruct the officials to chill out on the obvious "what the fuck"...

Combined with mega doses of roids as he tries to make a comeback.

Well he wouldn't call off the blitz, so Harrison couldn't help over the top so it left Hobbs on an island. So he is, sorta.

I would expect anyone who played offensive line professionally for as long as Incognito to develop some level of CTE. But I’d also think that it’s effect on players is highly variable and I really don’t we know enough to attribute particular players’ instability (or worse) to head trauma. But he’s clearly having some serious mental health issues lately as this is at least the second really bizarre incident this offseason.

This promotion makes me wish the 2016 Browns had gone 0-16. And AB InBev came up with this idea for the 2017 season. And those beers would still be rotting in those coolers some 14 months later.

Ahem. They have said they will make sure the beer is fresh for when they day comes.

Not that fresh bud light makes a difference mind you.

Good to know. So the beers in the fridges now are just props? (Makes sense I guess, but I do like the idea of just unlocking the lock and letting people at the beers inside.)

I figured the 2007-2010 Lions record of 26 road losses was pretty unassailable, but the Browns are at 22 and none of their road games look too easy:

Saints
Raiders
Bucs
Steelers
Bengals
Texans
Broncos
Ravens

But I'll say they'll tie the Lions record and end up beating Cincinnati to end the streak at 26.

Eh, I can see the Raiders and/or the Bucs tripping over their own dicks and blowing a home game to the Browns. I think your record is safe.

Oh when it happens it will be unlocked and they will have at them yes. But hey said they would rotate new beers in if needed. So if they win week one those beers will be had but if it drags on they will switch them out at some point to make sure it isn’t three month older.

Yeah, for sure. Of those, I like the Bucs chances of doing that better, but I agree. I still want to know what kind of crack anyone who picked the Browns to win 7 or 8 games was smoking though. That have some pieces, but I'm assuming Mayfield is going to start Week 1 and there's probably going to be a learning curve. Hence why I think it might take half the season to win a road game.

I worry about the coach though.

It’s fun to root against the team you rooted for for like a decade and then they win the super bowl and it’s pretty bad.

One of these guys is an athlete playing QB who can't process the field and wouldn't be able to play QB if he couldn't run. The other one faces an impossible situation because his line can't protect him. Both GIFs are a shade over 3 seconds in length.
