Looks like Sebastian Giovinco is transferring from Toronto to Al-Hilal FC (Saudi Arabia)

Re: MLS 2018
that Giovinco thing got debunked by TFC like an hour after wlu posted it. the wlu jinx!
SKC traded Ike Opara for up to $1M in allocation money from Minnesota. Opara is easily one of the best CBs in MLS (maybe the best?) but at 29 with a significant injury history, hard to not see $1M for him as a good deal in SKC's eyes as much as I dislike it on a personal level
SKC signed Andreu Fontas from Spain last year on a $1M a year deal and he didn't crack the starting lineup. Opara was making $340K. And SKC was certainly not going to trade Matt Besler.

Pogba to Atlanta....just happens to be the brother of the good one.
Re: MLS 2018
Apparently Acosta left DC camp because he has a potential deal with PSG or an EPL team. DC had a big offer from a Saudi team earlier but turned it down (apparently more than Gio's)

And his out going message to fans went after TFC management.wlu_lax6 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 11:58 pmSo.yeahBrontoburglar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 9:29 am that Giovinco thing got debunked by TFC like an hour after wlu posted it. the wlu jinx!
Re: MLS 2018
No deal with PSG. Sounds like the middleman may not have been legit, DC wanted more than PSG would give, and PSG manager vetoed the deal.

Toronto FC Reverts To The Norm
Yeah, things not looking so good right now...
By Thursday, local sports generalists had already moved on to the Raptors vs. Bucks for the NBA’s Eastern Conference lead. By Friday, they’ll be on to the Leafs debut of defenceman Jake Muzzin. By April, no one in this town will be able to recall it has a soccer team. Toronto FC will be allowed to revert to its old, completely bonkers incarnation with limited fuss.

Re: MLS 2018
just been looking for a excuse to use this.....my so yeah was more at management debunking it and then it happening. TFC had to go our and say not happening.
I find the Gio thing way less embarrassing than the Acosta, PSG, DC United transfer mess. Be interesting to see how Acosta and DC responds. Seems like they got taken for a bit of a ride and Pablo Maurer reported that Acosta is a bit down. DC was trying to get good money but it takes an amazing opportunity from Acosta who they want to sign but the price may be a bit too steep. Hopefully United get a few great months from Acosta and then a nice transfer fee from a big name club where he can star.

Garber inks 5 year extension. Hard to argue that he has not done a good job for the league. Maybe not perfect, but going in the right direction.
