Did you go to the jack casino? I’ve heard it’s solid as far as non Vegas casinos go.

No, we were mainly at The National's Homecoming festival at the park on the river between the stadia, and at eateries and bars around there and Over the Rhine.

So saw something about Atlanta United being called the 5 stripes. Isn't that a problem with the Adidas deal demanding the 3 stripes on the uniform? What are the 5 stripes they are talking about.

Oh and sorry to see NYCFC now in the market for a coach. Does not help for MLS not being a selling league.

Well it looks like NYCFC had a successor lined up, and it's a good get:

As for AUFC, there are five vertical stripes on both the crest and the chest of the jersey. Here's a picture of the crest for your reference:

I think he will still be well above average for MLS, but DC has to manage his use carefully, which is going to be tough for them from a business standpoint. He can't go Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday anymore, yet that's what DC's whole schedule looks like from here on out. Koeman played him in everything for 2 months, including friendlies, and that ruined him.

Grab me a UC shirt when you get to Nippert.

(I really need to head down for a FC Cincy game some time, preferably before they hit MLS.)

So Jesse Marsch leaves Red Bull NY for a likely job with RB Leipzig (b.t.w. of course that does not stand for Red Bull but rather RasenBallsport....a made up word to avoid the Germany league rules of having a company name for your team name).

But what is strange is Marsch is going for an interim job as Julian Nagelsmann to take over as coach in 2019-2020. Why Hoffenheim's coach is announcing a move a full year out is strange. Oh Nagelsmann is only 30.

RB has UEFA qualifications in 3 weeks.

Patrick Mullins (former Terp) traded from DC United to soon to be Austin's MLS franchise. He came in hot after the trade to DC but was losing out on the talent that DC has brought in (Darren Mattocks and Rooney).

Isn't this also a move from a head coaching position to an assistant position? Or is he interim, then assistant?

Chicago picked up a new investor. 49% of the club is now owned by Joe Mansueto. He founded Morningstar (met him once...really nice guy...pulled up to the meeting in a minivan from what I recall). I believe he also owns Inc and Fast Company.

So what is the deal with the seats at the new DCU stadium being so steep? Did they build on too small a footprint? It looks like personal injury lawyers should be circling the stadium during games

Went to the game. Great stadium. Keeps you right on top.of the field. Ran into Bruce Arena and John Harkes. Rooney's header was nice but Ariola stole the show. Although Rooney's passing stats for the night were impressive.

Just reading that DC United brought part of the RFK element with them. Yup part of the stadium broke off and hit the sideline reporter Lindsey Simpson (railing).
