Gunpowder, Sports Frogs Take Dramatic Game 3 for 2-1 Series Lead
The Burlington Sports Frogs needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the League Championship Series today. The Sports Frogs got took the 3-2 win against the Ajax Fighting Hosers in a walk-off at Green Mountain Grounds. Burlington right fielder Gunpowder was named player of the game after he was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win gives the Sports Frogs a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Gunpowder hit a slider from Santiago Quiles for a run-scoring double. The Sports Frogs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Gunpowder called the win "a collective effort."

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Green Mountain Grounds in Burlington. Slated to start are Jofet Celorico for Ajax and Sabo for Burlington.

Road Win Lifts Holland to 2-1 Lead in DS
The Holland Oats moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the Boise Huckleberries on the road at Ore-Ida Park by a score of 4-1. Oats right-hander howard was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 1-hit ball. The win gives the Oats a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

howard was effective for Holland, seldom allowing the Huckleberries to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 94 pitches over 8 innings. He limited Boise to just 1 run on 1 hit.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Oats manager Johnny Carwash, "I like our chances."

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Ore-Ida Park. Slated to start are Moreta for Holland and Andy Hatcher for Boise.

Arnold was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 at Green Mountain Grounds to help Ajax force a 2-2 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Had Jimmy Armendarez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Armendarez hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Fighting Hosers.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Ajax skipper Carlos Perez.

The next game is set to be played Friday.

Oats Win Division Series
Jerloma said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Division Series until he was shown his own statistics.

The Holland Oats second baseman put up a .313 average with 1 home runs, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Oats advancing to the League Championship Series, with a 3-1 series win over the Boise Huckleberries.

"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it."

The series victory had become official with a 6-3 triumph at Ore-Ida Park. Even if Jerloma is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue.

"I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said.

• Holland advances to the Conference Championship round, where they will face the mighty Corpus Christi Brinkleys in the "battle of teams named after things that were a big deal 35 years ago."

Burlington Takes Division Series in Deciding Game
The joy and relief on the faces of the Burlington Sports Frogs players was obvious as they celebrated their Division Series win over the Ajax Fighting Hosers.

"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Burlington third baseman Pruitt, shortly after the 12-4 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."

The team is now off to the League Championship Series.

Pruitt won series MVP honors on the strength of his .222 batting average during the series. He also had a .300 on-base percentage and 3 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 4 runs.

League Championship Series Game 1 Victory for Hendriks and Middlesex
The stakes were high. Dobbe Hendriks was ready.

The right-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Tsongas Park today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Middlesex Offenders to victory in Game 1 of the League Championship Series. Hendriks held the Burlington Sports Frogs to 7 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8. The win got the best-of-7 series off to a good start for Middlesex, which now leads 1-0.

Hendriks, who was born in Sint Nicolas, Aruba, threw 128 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing no earned runs.

"This is truly a great team to play with," Hendriks said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Tsongas Park in Lowell. Slated to start are govmentchedda for Burlington and Jaden Bradshaw for Middlesex.

Oats, Brinkleys Play 13 to Settle Game 1, Holland Now Leads Series 1-0
When the games really matter, the Holland Oats put on their best show, beating the Corpus Christi Brinkleys by a final score of 8-6 today. rass earned player of the game honors, as he went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Holland now leads Corpus Christi 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The most crucial at-bat for Holland came in the top of the 13th inning. That's when rass stroked a first pitch fastball to right for a 2-run single, putting Holland up, 8-6.

"Every team in baseball loses," Brinkleys manager George Hanak said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Selena Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Rush2112 for Holland and Jimmy Floyd for Corpus Christi.

Offenders Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
With starter Jaden Bradshaw leading the charge, the Middlesex Offenders defeated the Burlington Sports Frogs, 4-1, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The right-hander threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball at Tsongas Park to help Middlesex take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Middlesex grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Oscar Argumedo delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Offenders.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Argumedo said after the game.

The next game is scheduled for Wednesday at Green Mountain Grounds. Slated to start are Bobby Guillen for the Middlesex Offenders and Brian for the the Burlington Sports Frogs.

Raucous Selena Field Crowd Propels Brinkleys to 3-1 Victory; Series Tied at 1
The Corpus Christi Brinkleys topped the Holland Oats by the score of 3-1 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the League Championship Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Corpus Christi starter Jimmy Floyd, who threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball in the win.

Ryan Campbell aided the Corpus Christi cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1-1 with a home run.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Corpus Christi manager George Hanak. "Our pregame was pretty good."

The next game is set to be played Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 in Holland. Slated to start are Max Fernandez for Corpus Christi and howard for Holland.

Walker Handcuffs Sports Frogs, Offenders Seize 3-0 Advantage in CS
The Middlesex Offenders moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the Burlington Sports Frogs on the road at Green Mountain Grounds by a score of 3-2. Offenders right-hander Jay Walker was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Offenders a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Adam Parker made it 3-2, Middlesex, in the top of the ninth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Offenders win.

"It feels good to get this one," Parker told the Middlesex Bulletin.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Bobby Guillen for the Middlesex Offenders and Sabo for the the Burlington Sports Frogs.

Oats, Brinkleys Play 11 to Settle Game 3, Holland Now Leads Series 2-1
The Holland Oats got a strong game from starter howard, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Oats took the 4-3 win over the Corpus Christi Brinkleys in Game 3 of the League Championship Series in a 11th inning walk-off today. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed howard, who was named player of the game. howard threw 8 innings allowing 3 runs in the win, which gave the Oats a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Holland won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Steve Moore on the mound for Corpus Christi, pinch hitter DaveinSeattle hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Oats fans to their feet.

"Exhilarating win," said DaveinSeattle.

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in Holland. The scheduled starters for the game are Adan Ruiz for Corpus Christi and Moreta for Holland.
