First is Maize (point of reference) the other is Blazing Yellow. Sort of the ends of the "gold/yellow" spectrum.

Orange is tough, but I think a bright yellow and a brighter gradient of a royal blue (the one from the Dutch flag) would work pretty well together.

Brown and Teal would look hilarious.

OK, I think I kind of over-complicated the team colors polling. I put up a new poll to choose the primary color from a shortlist of the most popular ones. We'll follow that with the secondary color.

Looks like we're trending orange, but will leave up for a few more votes before moving on to the secondary color.

Orange has edged out brown for the Oats' primary color. New poll up for the secondary color.

After that, I'll get some logo and uniform mockups together for us to vote on.

Right? I'd rather an outline of Holland (city?) and some oats drawn inside of it where you're just asking someone who isn't in on the joke to say "You know, Holland Oats sounds like ..."

As a fan of a team with this as a logo, I'm in regardless.

A windmill with stalks of oats (if that's a thing) for blades. Or, to save our commissioner, option 2 is fine.

#2 is too hockey-ey.

I think I had the poll set to where you can change your vote. Is it working that way?

Didn't realize "How obvious should we make a Hall and Oates pun?" would be such a divisive issue. Otherwise I might have put more effort into the other options.

How about something like #2, but where the "O" in the back is make of oat stalks?

So, we were in kind of an odd position about the logo. Logo #4 had the most votes, but less than half the total, and I know there was a philosophical argument about how explicitly the "Hall and Oates" joke should be.

At the risk of polling you guys to death, I'm going to do another round on the logo. On the left is a modified version of #2 that more clearly references the "Oats" theme, versus #4 from before. Whichever one we pick, we can tweak further.



Once we get a consensus on this I'll work on the uniform mockups, hopefully for tomorrow.

4 be the official logo, 2 be the hat and shoulder patch.

Whichever one we vote on here will be what goes on the hat, so you can change your vote accordingly.

While I do like #4 better as I feel it captures the essence of the team I think #2 will look much better on a hat or uni.

I'm fully behind the #4 as a one-off novelty jersey/logo, but I really agree with folks yesterday that it kind of fucks up the joke to be so on the nose with it.
