15 year old Canadian hockey star, Connor McDavid is playing in the IIHF World U18 Tournament in Russia. He leads all scorers with 8 Goals and 14 Points in just 5 games so far.

Sounds like we need to keep an eye on this kid, eh?

The hockey kid I'm keeping my eyes on is Gretzkey's kid. I'm at work, so I am going to have to violate the rules for now. But she is hot, and not a fan of wearing clothes. But she is a fan of taking pictures of herself and posting them online.

She's probably more like the next "Great Two", anyway.

The Great Bapo! has seen McDavid play in person and i'm pretty sure started a thread on him at one of the previous Swamp stops.

wouldn't it be great if he became eligible right when Quebec gets a team back and they got first pick in the draft...

This is off the subject, but it works as well here as any other place.

So, as you may know, I grew up in semi-rural western Colorado - not exactly hockey country. One of my best friends growing up now lives in suburban Denver, and has a son who is now 15 years old. The kid is a serious hockey player, and last year, he was recruited and moved to Connecticut to go to an academy/hockey school, and play at a high level and develop more. Last week, he and his team played in a World Selects Invitational junior tournament in Portland, Maine, against teams from all over the world. Apparently, he did really well - (my former boss/mentor is a hockey fan who coincidentally retired to Portland, Maine, so I told him about the tournament, he attended it and told me my friend's son appeared to him to be one of the best players on his team.) So, it will be really fun if my friend's kid goes on to bigger things.

Here's another couple of names. Ben Duffy; 71 assists in the Q this year. Jonathan Drouin; 105 points in 49 games and will likely be first overall the draft this summer.

And pretty much anybody that plays for the Portland Winterhawks.

The kid's name is Rhys Phelps. He is a defenseman at Selects Academy in Connecticut.

And, I revived Naked Jake from the olden days, when this Swamp got going. Probably change him out soon enough...

NHL adjusts the odds in the draft lottery for 2015 (and going forward).

Starting in 2016 they will also draw for the second and third pick in addition to the first.

Might be a good thing the Rangers can't pick 1st overall because Sather/Clark seem to looooooove Americans.

He became only the 6th Canadian to make the World Junior team as a 16 year old. The others being Gretzky, Lindros, Spezza, Bouwmeester and Crosby.

He struggled in the tournament and Canada finished 4th. How he does in this year's World Juniors (held at home) will be very telling.

The crazy part is him having Spezza's career would qualify as a pretty heavy disappointment.

Tonight's winners include Sabres, Hurricanes, Coyotes and Flames. Doesn't anyone want Connor McDavid?

Hey! Flames have 16 points (same record as San Jose!), they were never in this discussion!
