Kind of wrong isn’t it that Michigan State gets to play their first two games in Detroit?

For some reason having to do with geography, seeding and voodoo, it was between MSU and MIchigan for that slot. On paper, probably should've been MI in Detroit, but as I said elsewhere, that's a VERY tough pod to get out of. I'll take neutral court against Montana and Houston.

You can’t convince me there was any compelling reason Michigan or Michigan State had to be in the Detroit quad.

Tried to warn y’all.
A college friend talked me into watching, saying they are legit good this year and fun to watch. I tuned in for the second half, and holy shit, they are an exciting team! That Perkins guy has the ugliest shot though. He throws threes from the side of his neck with no arc. How does he get out of rec basketball with that form?

Was I drunk, or did they have a weird camera angle for that game? I had a hard time judging depth perception on a couple shots, or when the 7 foot white dude dunked. I haven't seen Dick Vitale in ten years, and man has he aged. Barely recognized him.

Are you talking about the cameras being too high overhead? I assumed it was me watching only the A-10 and just forgetting since prior years.

I personally have no interest in convincing you, because I have no fucking clue how this shit works. I just know that there was something going at the 3 seed and the other teams on that line where it was coming down to those two teams for the Detroit pod.

I'm sure the 30 Second Google Search guy could chime in, but I'm into the cups and can't be bothered.

Yeah, what the fuck guys. No talking about it.

(I got recruited to play at UMBC back before they turned into a somewhat nationally renowned IT school. Back when I was looking at going there, UMBC stood for U Made a Bad Choice.)

Y'all a bunch of grown ass men, you talk about what you want.

This is nuts.

And the clip of the tournament, BY FAR, is the UMBC PG's dad running up and own the aisle with that Fat Head of his son. Fucking Hell. So great.

31-2.

UMBC has like, one win against a Power 5. I don't know if they've ever beaten an ACC team.

(there, everyone feel free to unload)

UMBC is exhausted. This is fucking compelling as shit.

One dude is rubbing one of those orange butte butter crackers ons his tongue, the little person is starting to see triplicate of everything, the rest of the team is like 'hey, guys, we're not prepared to deal.'

C'mon you fucking RETRIEVERS!

Hey, UVa is making Syracuse look like a good offensive team.

And, (way upthread), yes, the tournament tries to "protect" the top four seeds in each regional by keeping them close to home. Frankly, there should have been a way to get both Michigan State and Michigan to play in Detroit.

I do feel bad for Dave. It fucking sucks to run into a random buzzsaw. I don't know if UMBC = George Mason. But that team was insane in term of its FG percentage and NO ONE could've stopped them.

But the history involved here... Again, no offense, but this is amazing to watch. And to have a little local flavor adds to the experience.
