If Colorado had scored there Bryant would have been haunted for the rest of his life.

Cubs very well may have been better off if Contreras had to come out.

Dennis Eckersley had his best years with the Athletics and the Red Sox. So, if the A’s beat the Yanks tonight, you might expect TBS to put him on that series. Nope - he’s got the Astros/Indians. Dumb.

Eckersley worked the Sox booth for a while, might be something to do with that?

Mister D's Mister Keys to the Game:

1. Severino was the right call because he has the best stuff and, more importantly, he shows very clearly if he doesn't have it or is losing. Flipside is Tanaka who might not be locating but that's semi-standard and there's not a lot visually separating him struggling early with whether he'd get through 7 relatively unscathed and or give up two quick HRs. I'm hoping and assuming Happ is the caddy and Tanaka is the extra innings guy but that's less important than Boone picking the right starter, which he did.

2. I hate Voit hitting 5th not because I hate him hitting 5th, but because I'm positive Neil Walker will PH at some point and then you've got Walker hitting in front of Gregorious, Andujar, Sanchez and Torres. I'm pre-mad about this future big situation for Walker's 2nd PA.

3. I also hate Chapman announced as closer given his issues at times in bigger games. Hopefully there's a righty throwing behind him after the first baserunner at the latest.

4. Overall, I feel as good as I can knowing a bullpen can just run through you without hitters ever getting a chance to adjust.

5. Yankees 4-3 with Oakland scoring late and making me barf. Time of the 9 inning game will be 4:17.

5a. If the Yankees do lose, they'll have 13+ strikeouts and someone stupid on Oakland will have a big HR.

And he's working with Don Orsillo which would have been nice hearing him do more Red Sox games.

I’m guessing the baseball fans around the country who aren’t big fans of either of these teams are thinking one of two things.
Either
1. Yankees versus the Red Sox is a classic rivalry needs to be those two playing each other.
2. God I’m so tired of seeing those two teams play each other in TV. Please Lord help us. Go A’s.

Hendricks looked exactly like bad Severino does; fastball a tick up and going to all the wrong quadrants and breaking pitches either spiked or deliberate and spinning.

1. Chapman has to come out before Green assuming both are available.

2. Green has to be on call if 2 runners are on. Boone can’t let the always lurking meltdown get to the tying run.

Jesus Christ even I could have hit that hanger for a routine groundout to third.

Edit: actually I hit better lefty. So maybe first. But I’d have been late so probably third.

Edit again: I’ve had a long day. Bear with me.

Myles Straw? Because that sounds like a fake name from a video game.

YES! I thought that same thing when I saw the name yesterday.
