I think Boston is too high, I actually like Toronto in that series. Rask is just not good in the playoffs and the defense is so-so, shit the bed against Ottawa last year.

One small prediction, I think the Devils might give TBL a run.

Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for an illegal check to the head of Vegas Golden Knights forward William Carrier in Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The incident occurred at 9:59 of the third period at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday. There was no penalty assessed on the play. Carrier did not return to the game.
Considering that Doughty leads the Kings in average ice time and is arguably their most integral player, I think he'd have to cut somebody's throat to actually get suspended.

It was similar to the hit Cogliano got suspended for that ended his ironman streak. Maybe they'll adjudicate differently in the playoffs but he should get a game.

I agree that he should get suspended. But, given that he's a big star and this is the playoffs, I expect he'll get off with a stern finger-wagging.

Yes. Yes, they did. Fuckers.

Still not as bad as the guy behind me that was acting as both play by play and color man throughout the game. All fucking game.

Anyone ever been happier to be in Newark, NJ than Hall?

Watching that game last night, I could tell that if I was a Tampa fan I would be holding my breath every time he entered the zone with the puck (sort of like I did watching Martin St. Louis back in 2011 against the Pens).

Yeah, he's certainly the scary one. The Bolts did what they could to give the game away with both penalties that led to the 5 on 3, but the acting to get the hit to the head call against Sergachev was utter horseshit.

Good thing Coleman miraculously healed from his concussion to take his next shift.

I didn't get the acting there, it was an interference call either way, why embellish/put yourself in a real position to get hurt?

Had people around me saying this was the year for the Caps because expectations had finally been lowered. I was on record very early saying the Caps just weren't all that good, only to have them turn in a much better than expected second half.

But they are being exposed again in the playoffs. The fact of the matter is that they are a franchise that loves scoring pretty goals. It's been like this for a decade.

That shit don't hunt in the playoffs.

Ha ha. A distinct lack of blueshirts!

I'm really enjoying the playoffs so far. Last night's game was really fun. Until it got out of hand and the Ducks gave up on hockey and were just out for vengeance.

Getting ready to spar with Ramsfanny and Brian in the second round.

Degen - check your PMs.

Degen, I received your PM, but when I try to send you one, the system says you are not set up to receive them.

Anyway, I'll just put my note here - upthread you said you wanted that Sharks towel. I've got lots of Sharks' swag already, so if you want it, I'll send it to you. PM me your mailing address.

Caps with a proof of life moment last night.

And I'll be honest, I read about it this morning. I turned to other things when the waved off a Caps goal in the BJs scored right after. Too much aggravation.
