I like #5.

And #3 would be good, but it's Exhibit A for DO NOT PUT TEXT ON A FLAG.

I think that is a campaign rally for former pro tennis player and presidential candidate, Tim Mayotte. (Or maybe his brother. Not sure.)

Worse.

Mayotte experiencing "EARTHQUAKE SWARM!

Those two words should not be together.

We currently have a tie for 2nd place. The next time I see one of them in the lead, we'll close up the group.

OOOOH. I could change and affect the outcome! This is why you play all group games at same time on last day!

Group E notes:

1. Those are turtles
2. That's a book, a rifle, a hoe, and a star
3. That's the Islamic Creed
8. That's the Create-a-Face kids meal from IHOP

I voted for the turtles with my 4th vote after reading down to here. But that flag sucks. The proportions are all off.

Clear Group of Death here! I love the green/yellow/red/black combo on so many African flags, and that blue and black look great together. Yeah, that blown up crest is amazing. Baskets full of happy snakes drawn by a preschooler, the crown, of course the guy, and all balanced on the back of a dragon! The project manager on this design had to be an 8 year old.

Burundi gets robbed but will go into the losers bracket which, luckily for them, is based solely on how good flags look as cornhole boards.

2 clear winners here. I mentally tossed a coin to seed them 1 and 2. Bye to Spanish exclave Ceuta and their weird Museum of Science optical illusion flag.

Group H #5 has been a favourite of mine since I got my first book of flags when I was maybe 6 or 7.

But #6 which I'm pretty sure is a new flag for that country is nice.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, red, white, blue, and stars have been pretty popular elements so far. So of course Liberia is out.

1b is the mediocre team that snuck into the knock-out round due to some quirky goal differential thing.

Matchup #3 was tough. I went with 3b, but 3a would still beat any of the flags in the first two sets.
