Homemade hamburgers are always disappointing. I can't remember the last time I've even finished one when it was the only choice as the main entree.

Tend to agree but I started making mine with a combo of brisket and short rib and season the hell out of it and they've been pretty good.

Yelp's Top 100 restaurants.

No idea there were so many fucking hot spots in AZ, and Giff have you had the burger from Burger-Chan? (#27)

Top two NJ ones are pretty close to here and I’ve never heard of either. Weird list. Probably paid?

Yelp scores are pretty easy to game I’ve heard. That said I’ve been to the Reno pizza place on the list and it’s legit.

Well the first one is a chia bowl shop. Second is really close to me and I've never heard of it.

Never heard of Sabores which is not too far from my house. But that part of Arlington is not in my rotation since I moved to the Western part.od the county.

Never heard of the ramen place in DC or the exotic pizza place in Bethesda..but that is nonlinear's area.

So glad that place got named to a national list. Their breakfasts are amazing. And, for a time, they had a "military member returning from a deployment" free breakfast. So, so good.

Agreed again, although fries tend to be crispier than just potatoes, and IMO it's more likely that the addition of fries "can obviously be very good" per Ryan's original phrasing.

Right on. The eggs are all the mush I can handle. Super-crispy home fries could work and I don't mind the sandwich fries

Having said that. I don’t often do it, but putting a line of potato chips in a hoagie gives a good crunch. I may need to consider experimenting which chips with which meat moving forward.

Co-sign ... the only time potatoes on a wrap/sandwich work is when its a thin hashbrown that's really well crisped.

This will draw some ire ... I feel the same way about beans on burritos. If its a veggie one, fine and good, but if you already have a protein in there, the beans are just some mush at best and a clashing flavor at worst. I'm sorry.

Yep. I feel like when added to a burrito or other Mexican hand held item, otherwise tasty beans just lose all flavor in comparison to the protein. It ends up just being mouth filler.

I have not ... that's one of those places we just tend to not think about. Our go-to breakfast place, which I think has come up before because they rank on NJ.com lists, is here. Kids ask for it every other weekend.

We have a local breakfast burrito place that used to have pretty cheap and fantastic burritos. I haven't been for a while, the burritos are now 4-5$ more (9-10$) and are almost all egg, like basically a sausage omelet in a tortilla. Gross.

I assume the only reason potatoes are added generally is because they are a lot cheaper than meat.

I mean, this is almost the mission/vision statement for Chipotle. I tell those folks to chill with the beans whenever I go there (and it's been well over a year, at least.)

Ha. I've only been to the place I linked to once* and I ended up there because TS was too backed up and couldn't make me a sandwich in less than 45 minutes.

*it was after a 5K and I was treating myself to a TH/PREC sandwich - I liked it I just don't go beyond bagels too often for my weekend breakfast and I certainly wouldn't get one while on a run and carry it the 4 or 5+ miles home

I really like it, too. There are certain sandwich situations where its absence is unacceptable.

So I'm thinking this might have been a bad take?
