Are we doing separate threads each week or are we just going to make the NFL 2018 thread challenge Hurricane Katrina?

Anyway, I actually like Shawn Mendes, but putting the concert next to the Concrete Pi?

I like the idea that there's alternate universes out there where Trump isn't president and the Eagles never won the Super Bowl.

The alternative to the Eagles winning the Super Bowl was/is unacceptable.

I was psyched for a while, and now I'm going to bed.

The refs are killing the game.

Pruitt.

Nathan Peterman might be the worst QB in NFL history.

Only one INT during the 1st half. That’s improvement.

As bad as Peterman is as a QB, Sean McDermott is worse as a coach.

Flacco enjoying his new toys today. TD passes to Snead, Brown and Crabtree.

Looks like we’re gonna need a extra column in the nfl standings for the entire season.

ETA: as soon as I posted, Steelers get the ball past the 50 and down to the Cleveland 28.

ETA2: This game helps me understand edging in a new and unflattering light.

Only the Browns would get a tie so that a nation can make “hey the Browns didn’t lose!” jokes.

At the moment I will just say that Peterman is way ahead in that category.

I have no idea what the coaches see in him - if AJ McCarron is worse than him, I will eat my dog.

That team was defeated before the kickoff.

That ending was so very, very Brown. A ten yard penalty on the INT return? As Brown as it gets.

And garret had played a monster game, too.

Was the Browns’ last kick even blocked? I assumed it was but on replay just looked like he mishit it?

Some things never change, like the Chargers finding ways to harm themselves in the fourth quarter.

Great game.

And Trubisky looks like he'll be all right... but I can not for the life of me understand why the Bears abandoned the run during that last drive. Two time outs - a 5 yard gain might have come in handy.

The Broncos squeaked past the Seahawks because Von Miller’s brilliance offset Case Keenum’s Osweillerian performance.

Aaron Rodgers is also a'ight.

As for the Bears, I would be borderline giddy. That was a REALLY clever offensive attack, and Trubisky looked the part too. I think they are going to a be a lot better, and soon, than I had been giving them credit for.

Just had this conversation with some co-workers here in the office: I don't why anyone thinks the Broncos are going to be any better than last year. I know the thought is Case Keenum is an upgrade but reality is he's coming off what could prove out to be a fluke year. The Broncos did nothing to make themselves better in the offseason. I know most NFL fans are delusional but the level out here is up a notch...not in a crazy way...Bronco land thinks they are a playoff team every year while clearly staring 7-9 AT BEST in the face.

He truly is an elite version of Trevor Siemien. They are very, very similar.

Last night was a very nice encapsulation of the Bears fan experience.

I didn't get to see the first half, but from texts and tweets, it seemed like everything was going their way. At the same time, after scoring ten points on their first two drives, they had a pair of three-and-outs and a turnover on downs before the FG to open the third. The defensive score is a bit of an illusion because it helped create the 20-0 margin (hey, points count any way you get them), but under 300 total yards, 4.5 yards per play, and under 4.9 yards per attempt doesn't make me that excited.

Nagy said after the game that he felt the offense didn't perform as well as it could have because the players didn't have enough reps in preseason. One of the papers cited they got over 2,000 reps in camp, so it seems like preseason game reps is what he's talking about. While guys like Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel didn't play due to injury recovery, this is the same coach who sat his starters in both their fourth and fifth preseason games.

So, while I agree the arrow is pointing up, last night's good feeling from the first half has to be tempered, and not just because Rodgers played the second half.

Just saw the highlights. You should pretty much NEVER kick a field goal late in a game to take a 6 point lead...it actually mathematically decreases your chance of winning.
