That was a grim scene with Vertonghen.

I figured at that point that Ajax would win 4-0 or something. As it is, I am pretty confident for the 2nd leg. Spurs have Son out there instead of that piece of shit Llorente, they score at least one goal. That Ajax defense is ripe for the picking.

Can we all agree "looks more like he faced nose-ax today" worked a lot better before Vertonghen's injury turned scary?

I watched highlights, and they didn't even show the injury. Sought it out, and in a short clip with no commentary, it looked like he got a cut on his nose that bled a lot. What am I missing?

The head bleeds a lot (as my 12 year old can tell you after splitting his scalp last week on a trampoline, requiring 5 staples), and JV was quite bloody, and writhing around pretty bad. It took a long time to clean him up, and somehow he was let back on the field. He didn't last long before saying that he couldn't continue.

So it just looked scary because all he blood? The edit I saw, it seemed like a small cut and a lot of blood. Didn't know if there was an additional concussion or something.

Poch said he cleared concussion protocol, but he looked pretty out of it when he asked off the pitch.

Yeah, watch when he's being taken off. Starts to pass out on the field and has to be kept upright.

Also, Iker Casillas is fine but suffered a heart attack in practice today.

It was a nasty collision with Alderweireld. Tons of blood and he looked out of it. They patched him up and a couple of minutes he came back on the field and within seconds signalled that he had to come off. When he got to the sideline he almost collapsed and then bent over to puke. Almost fell a couple of times.

DAZN had a camera on him the whole time. It was scary.

Of course, Liverpool almost answered with what would have been a crucial goal.

So...Messi is the 4th leading scorer against the Big 6 in the Premier League...despite never actually playing in the Premier league.

Pretty sure that was BEFORE yesterday's match, and that he's now tied with Hazard on 26.

9 v Arsenal
6 v City
4 v United
3 v Chelsea
2 v Tottenham
2 v Liverpool

(That's since 2011-12.)

It is 26, and that's in 33 games.

Aguero's incredible total would be in approximately 80 games.

Liverpool never says die - a solid first half.

But this Shaqiri looks lost and hopeless out there.

Best case is another Liverpool goal followed by a Barca stoppage time away winner.

For you? Not stoppage time, you want the full extra 30 to wear them out.

The entire sequence on the go ahead goal is one of the coolest things I have seen on a pitch. Alexander-Arnold is a genius.

I'm watching it over and over again now - it looks like Alexander-Arnold and Origi made brief eye contact as A-A walks away but before his quick turn to the quick kick?
