Well holy shit. There is a greater than 90% chance I am referenced in this article. I say 90% because I would never say OMG out loud non facetiously, and I think I kept my cool until I was outside...but my buddy swears this was me. (And she looked better in person)

Nice.

Side-tangent. I was watching Casino on AMC a few Sundays back. She is absolutely amazing in that, both looks* and acting.

So think I officiated Anthony Scalia's grandson today. Name matched, fancy private school in the DC area helmet (I think 2 of Scalia's kids are partners in big law firms in DC).

Also....Shirley's school is an impressive facility. Fields upon Fields of perfectly manicured grass and 9 hole golf course, I did not see much more..but considering the schools I have officiated at, this was a nicer one than lots.

They got called in by Nike. Someone they'd worked with in the past is now running a new division at Nike (not being announced until October) and Barkley is part of that deal.

Almost 100% positive I saw the Georgia Tech Rambling Wreck being towed by a Rivian today in this tiny town outside of Asheville where we visit every year. Passed it on a two lane road, so I didn't get the best of looks at it.

ETA - Wiki tells me there are several replicas

Rivian is the only thing I recognized in any of that. I’m picturing party RVs. Rivian is a new brand if electric trucks, mostly see pickups and and occasional SUV. They have some crazy camping features that are cool. One trim line has a tent that folds out and sits on a platform over the pickup bed.

ETA: not RVs, but a longhorn steer, a horse, a buffalo a covered wagon and 1930 Ford Model A.

Yep, the Rambling Wreck is a gold Model A with GT on the side. I always remember the first line of their fight song, "I'm a Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech and a heck of an engineer"

Because engineers are usually kinda stupid outside of their expertise.

I'm in California for my partner's father's 90th birthday. Her brother, who's an artist in San Francisco, is here also. The brother is also a member of the Bohemian Club, the private club that has been in the news recently.

He told me last night that he met Jeffery Clarke, currently known as co-conspirator #4, when Clarke was a guest there back in 2016, shortly after Trump won election. The brother told me that Clarke was a major asshole.

He also told us about watching Kid Rock (there as a guest of someone) say something racist to another member, and promptly getting escorted from the property, along with the guy who invited him.

Not much of a brush, but George Thorogood and the (Delaware) Destroyers are playing a couple of shows down here and we happened to be walking by post-show as he came out the front door got into a city-provided golf cart and was whisked away.

George Thorogood’s childhood is about 3 miles from my house and I used to jog past it frequently. There’s a state historical marker there. The next door neighbors to that house have a giant Trump banner on their lawn that I consider pissing on or defacing with spray paint when I drive past it but reject that because it’s his property values he’s tanking.
