So I wonder how traditional providers feel about the YouTube tv ads. Are those showing everywhere? I have directv now streaming and they show for me. Fox don’t care any provider works for them. But weird that competitors are showing ads for others doing same.

It's about damned time we got to Week 2.

Dave Roberts just lost this game, and perhaps their chances in the series, by going with Madson over Baez there. That was a super high leverage spot where they had to use their most reliable righty set-up guy.

This is the decisive factor in the series right now. It’s funny because back when the Royals had their ridiculous bullpen back in 2015, Madson was the only guy the other teams had a chance against.

One last comment on the Dodgers, because I’m annoyed they blew their lead, and chance to make this a competitive series: they can’t keep playing Dozier and Hernandez, even against lefties. Dozier has been awful this year and Hernandez looks lost the last few weeks. Some combo of Muncy, Bellinger and Pederson needs to play over those guys.

Jackie Bradley is going to have the highest WPA/OBP ratio in postseason history.

Also, those 10X assholes behind the plate tonight can fuck off. Bring back Marlins Man and Front Row Amy!

I like pinch runners and that Kinsler trip around the bases certainly brought the excitement.

I fell asleep around inning 10. Then woke up for 15/16 but called it at that point.

I fell asleep in the 13th inning, while the Sox were still batting.

Red Sox probably still win this series in 6 but that Kinsler error was pretty huge. Even if he just holds the ball after stumbling, Eovaldi likely gets the next batter out to put them up 3-0.

I lost my shit over that. Dude just kept stumbling and throws to 1st on the middle of it? Just hold the ball.

I turned it off in the 15th (I'm on college visits with my kid, and sharing a hotel room), but listened to the end on the radio as I was fading in and out of sleep. I thought I was dreaming when I heard that Clayton Kershaw was pinch-hitting. And poor Charlie Steiner was delirious and sounding punch drunk on the broadcast.

Kinda fun because Kinsler seems like the right way type who would shit on a younger or more Eduardo Nunez-er player for such a dumb decision to throw.

I saw an interesting bit of trivia earlier. With the Dodgers win, Game Five will be played on Sunday in Los Angeles.

This means that for the first time ever there will be a game played in each of the North American major leagues on the same day in the same city.

NHL: Kings vs. Rangers at 12:30pm PT
NFL: Rams vs. Packers at 1:25pm PT
MLS: Galaxy vs. Dynamo at 1:30pm PT
MLB: Dodgers vs. Red Sox at 5:15pm PT
NBA: Clippers vs. Wizards at 6:30pm PT

As an added bonus, the Ducks are also at home on Sunday against the Sharks.

That's pretty much as far as you can crush a ball at Dodger Stadium.

I love Puig’s celebrations. Also, the Fox announcers and baseball Twitter are being a little harsh on Alex Cora for leaving Rodriguez in. As Smoltz just pointed out, Rodriguez got the double play ball from Bellinger. Vazquez just didn’t execute on the throw down to first.

Either way, using Marchand or Perry as a comp puts you on the right track. And, on a baseball-specific relative measure, his Asshole-Above-Replacement score is really high.

I think Roberts pulled Hill at the right time. I had Hill on my fantasy team this year so I followed his starts closely and he has a clear tendency to be very strong early and hit a wall in the middle innings. He also seemed to be tiring in the 7th to my eyes. I do think Roberts chose the wrong relievers after that. But then again, they pretty much all gave up hits so you just gotta give credit to Boston’s hitters. At some point it boils down to that a team that goes 108-54 then 10-3 against the caliber of playoffs opponents they’ve faced must be really, really good. I certainly underestimated the caliber of Boston’s depth pieces.

I think Hill was ok being taken out but I could see a case for leaving him in for one more batter. If that guys hits a dinger or gets on base you pull him but he was tough up to them. I’ll defer to Roberts saying they had talked about it but by no means should madson ever pitch again. Not in series. Ever.

Lolz.
