James Conner being good at pro football is one of those stories that makes you forget that they are killing people out there

Assuming Conner is ok, this has gone well.

Never good when Troy Aikman says a team needs to “heal emotionally” from the beating they are absorbing.

And to give Troy another pop, why is Newton still playing?

Interestingly, Stewart doesn't have his number retired by CU Boulder. (Salaam, Westbrook and Fauria are up there from that '94 team)

Do they have a rule where you have to have a degree to get things like that? UK used to have that, but I don't think they stick to it anymore.

Dez Bryant was just signed to the Saints the other day and today he may have blown out his achilles.

I honestly don’t know I’d take that contract if I knew my Achilles would explode inside 72 hours. Like I probably would, but I might back out before signing.

Not sure...

But I'll tell you, the Bengals may have been the most fraudulent 5-3 team.

I mean, it’s not a newsflash that the saints are better, and it doesn’t help that they have nine starters out injured (eifert, aj green, burfict, Redmond, vigil, Glasgow, kroft, Lawson, lost Kirkpatrick during first half, and I am forgetting a few others).if fully healthy they lose, under these circumstances and with that coach, they get killed.

Hard to say, except to note their OL was banged up today and still did a decent enough job of protecting the yawn-inducing Alex Smith.

The Bucs gained 481 yards today and they scored 3 points. Burn it all to the ground.

Washington is 6-3 with a point differential of +1. And they're in a shitty division. If Philly loses tonight, Washington will be 2 points up.

Chicago is 6-3 with a point differential of +96 and are only half a game ahead of Minnesota.

To be honest, the Skins looked “meh” vs the Bucs today. For the record, those Bucs are negative 19 in the turnover differential this year.

Dolphins are somehow in this.

4 FGs today. No TDs in last 24 possessions.

Yesterday, my son learned the true meaning of being a Jets fan. He was excited for weeks to play the Bills and finally go into a game expecting to win. He was distraught for hours. At night, he was upset that all the kids would make fun of him at school for being a Jets fan. Yes, son. They will.

They don't run an actual modern NFL offense. They are the kings of the all-curls play.

Holy shit!

Why would any one other than fans of the visiting teams, go to see a game in Oakland? The mere fact that this team planned to play one and maybe two lame duck seasons in the Coliseum is the biggest "fuck you" to fans I think I have ever seen.

And so seemingly unnecessary too. I don't think Oakland really needed a wholesale rebuild. I don't think they were a serious Super Bowl contender, but only seemed to be a few parts away perhaps.

So I have a theory. I think it really bothers Gruden that a lot of people still consider his Super Bowl victory to be riding the coattails of a team that Tony Dungy built and this is all to feed his ego to so that the same thing couldn't be said if in two or three years and he won another one in Oakland/Las Vegas. I think once he was hired this was always in the plans.

At the same time, I don't think it's a stretch in any way that his thoughts on how to win games in the NFL are hopelessly out of date, no matter who is on his roster.
