Obama joins the recent concerted anti-Warren push from wealthy Democratic centrists.

I really, really hope that Warren doesn’t let all this pressure push her into running as a conventional Dem. I don’t think she’s an Obama or Bill Clinton type who can win on the force of charisma while running on a bland platform. Rather, the centerpiece of her appeal is her boldness and willingness to speak truth to power. If she loses that edge, she’s a weak General Election candidate.

(All of the same also applies to Sanders but I’m less concerned about him because he’s long made it clear he DGAF about criticism from the Dem establishment.)

“Whenever the rich will allow us to without a fight!”

Itll be Biden. It's clearly headed that way to the detriment of everyone.

According to that poll, Pete’s mostly gaining voters from Biden, Harris and Warren. The first two make sense, but Warren not so much. They’re really not similar at all on policy grounds. If those numbers are legit, then the recent attempts by corporatist Dems to make Warren seem “unelectable” is having a real effect.

And, on Thursday, former Deadspinner Albert Burneko had some less than ideal thoughts on Pete and the media here.

I guess I'm a bit surprised I had Warren 2 over Sanders, but me and Bern disagreed on the SCOTUS question and existing college debt.

I agreed with Biden on exactly zero of those questions. Surprisingly I got Booker first, then Warren #2 and Sanders t-3rd. But Booker has spent way too much time cozying up to finance for me to back him.

I mean, a lot of the questions are, like... Whatever.

Do I think we should talk about changing the electoral college and increasing the number of justices on the SC? Sure, fine.

Do I think it's vital to health care reform to eliminate private insurance. Not really, but I'm listening.

A lot of this comes down to "do I think you are a reasonable human that isn't saddled with a lot shitty baggage and can't get past." Kind of tough to tease that out in a questionnaire, obvi.

I don't see how private insurance can be eliminated. Canada, which is the model Bernie raves about, is probably 50% private insurance. During the last election, the NDP proposed healthcare "from head to toe" and free pharmaceuticals, and they were considered insane. And that's from a starting position or already having healthcare.

Also, the questions chosen for surveys like this invariably affect the outcome. Had it asked about a wealth tax, financial regulations, Green New Deal or foreign policy (all of which are very important) I highly doubt that I would have ranked Booker first.

Office just down the road from tyler perry studios but ive passed twice today and wouldnt know anything is going on. A seemingly planted marine protester guy cause ive never seen him out there before but thats all. Expected some sort of police presence or delays but nothing. Guess its not really an open venue. Pretty big gates from its army base days.
