Pretty sure those are the "Okee-dokeys" approved by white dads everywhere, so you're probably fine.

Found this in a Charlotte Observer article from last year about the Klan recruiting kids in New York state...

Apparently it is a thing.

Which I am tempted to say reflects poorly on Nike's R & D folks, but would you guys have expected Nike to know about this?

Also, expect to see a lot more of these flags at events on Thursday.

I think Kaep is totally fucked up on this one and I really don't like Nike giving in.

I don’t feel strongly about this particular issue but I’ve bought multiple pairs of Nikes in the past year specifically because I respect their willingness to give a voice to leftwingers like Kaepernick.

Sure, and I think that's great. But there's a limit to everything, and "don't use a Revolutionary-War era US flag logo because some of the Revolutioners had slaves" is on the other side of it.

That’s fine. It’s also fine for Kaepernick (or anyone else) to feel the other way. And Nike presumably put a lot of thought into its decision to use Kaepernick as a prominent endorser. If a right-wing athlete like Nick Bosa or JD Martinez were in that position with Nike, then they’d just go forward with issuing the shoe.

I feel like you have to consider if your opinion would change, at all, if you were you but black. The default "I don't know because I can't know" feels much safer than opposition most every time.

Oh, I have no doubt that Kaep's feeling is legit. And I have no animus towards him - if he can use his newfound status to agitate, more power to him, and I will agree with him way more often than I will disagree.

But I don't think Nike should have given in to him, because the implication is that it's not okay for the US to celebrate its own founding. And that is not reasonable.

A little more reading says his reasoning was grounded in the alt-right's apparent adoption of that flag as a symbol of "better times".

If that’s the full reason, I’m even less on board.

Keep it and you either force morons to buy Nikes or none of them do and you reclaim the symbol.

This doesn't seem a whole lot smarter than when people overreacted to gangs appropriating sports logos.

Just checked out the "latest news" at Pro Football Talk. Most recent six stories include the Packers setting records in revenue last season and three NFL Friday afternoon news dump suspensions (including Incognito).

Really sums up the NFL real quick (and I guess the others being a team CEO making a suggestion for moving to an 18-game schedule and a player injury fit right in, as well).

Oh jeez!
The technician, no .406 hitter like the baseball legend, missed the can with several swings of the wrench and smacked Williams' head directly, spraying "tiny pieces of frozen head" around the room.

Never rooted for an injury, but if Hill had an injury which forced him to miss say the first 8 games or so, that would be some fitting karma.

Rooting for injuries is just asking the universe to do the job the leagues aren't. I'm fine with it. Let's hope this one is career threatening.
