Quote of the week from Rotoworld:
While still working for ESPN, coach Jon Gruden called Peterman the most pro-ready quarterback in the 2017 draft class, one that also included Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Gruden thought Peterman should go "no lower than the second round." He went in the fifth and has been one of the worst quarterbacks in NFL history through his first two seasons.
Also, Browns are favoured by more than a touchdown.

We're going to look back at banning players over addiction problems as one of the more fucked up sports things of the present.

Along with locking up over a million people for simply possessing drugs, yes.

Mmmhmm. Jonathan Singleton basically lost his career over something that was never bad and is now legal in like half the country.

If so still worth it. The guy helped them win about 5 games they probably wouldn't without him. Now they lack talent and separation in the passing game. They'll need to win 20-17 and pray for snow.

The not unreasonable scenario that the eagles could end up making it to the playoffs with Foles back in for Wentz makes me giggle.

Watching replay pats Steelers and Gordon drops slant at right before 13:00 3q in speed replay. I guess everybody drops but umm... Dude has ridiculous hands and ball awareness moreso than than the acknowledged exceptional size and explosiveness. Is he's high? Yes. That said I would resign him for the low in a second.

I want to make sure I have this right because I’m a little high myself right now but are you really inferring that a player was high on the basis of one drop? You Patriot fans are fucking nuts! Even Jerry Rice dropped a ball now and then. Fuck’s sake.

And considering that he'd probably been with the team at the stadium for maybe 6 hours at that point, it must have been a hell of a joint he smoked before getting on the team bus.

It owns that the Patriots lost the Superbowl because Nick Foles caught a TD because he’s a Bible thumper and abstained from drugs pregame, while Brady smoked a blunt and then blew the Pats’ well-designed trick play.

Jerry Rice himself has dropped some of the easiest catches in NFL history. Are you for real here?

EDIT: Was he potentially under the influence of something? Sure. Can you infer anything from one drop? Come on.

if the texans beat the eagles and the patriots lose, or the texans win out they will be a 2 seed with a bye. Ive never had a team i cared about have a bye before. between watching watson develop and seeing this team winning games for no apparent reason...this is as optimistic as i get, which means we could easily finish 10-6 and somehow backdoor and miss the playoffs

Texans are a pretty stacked team talent wise, and if they fired BOB and hired someone who runs an offensive scheme closer to what Watson ran at Clemson I think they’d be scary good. Even as is, they have a shot this year if things break right but they really need to hold onto that bye. I don’t care how mediocre the Pats have looked, I wouldn’t want to play them in Foxboro after they’ve had a bye. Other than the Jets game in 2011, I don’t think they’ve ever lost in that spot.

Too young for the Oilers? Cause I sadly remember the last time my football team had a first round bye and then some asshole/one of the best quarterbacks of all-time came into our building and broke the city's heart. I see it happening again next month.

Just the name "Elway" is enough to ruin a Browns' fans day.

(Just occurs to me - the Oilers were a cursed franchise, so I will refrain from showing the Bills fans' favourite game with Warren Moon.)

That one was in Buffalo. He's referring to KC Joe Montana coming in there and beating them in a year that I believe most people thought was their best season.

Wow! Forgot that one - I do remember Elway punishing the Oilers.
You know, those are three brutal losses - on par with any thing the Browns experienced back in the day. Belated sympathies.

My 9 year old self loved Joe Montana and was thrilled by that game and rooting so hard for a Chiefs-Niners Superbowl. Then they got pounded by the Bills and Cowboys in the Conference Championships.

So if the Ravens beat the Browns next week, they take the division?

I can see them making the Super Bowl.

Depends on how Pitt finishes their season. They have NO and then Cincy.

i am TERRIFIED of this though. from 0-3 in week 3 to 10-4 in week 15 to......

The Texans get left out of the playoffs
You just got through the Texans’ dream scenario, so now let’s look at the nightmare one. Because even though they’re still alive for the No. 1 seed, they also haven’t even clinched a spot in the playoffs.

Houston split its season series with both the Colts and the Titans. So if the Texans lose out in games against the Eagles and Jaguars, they’d be 10-6 with a 3-3 record in the AFC South.

That wouldn’t be enough to win the AFC South if either the Colts and Titans — who play each other in Week 17 — win their last two. Both Indianapolis and Tennessee have 3-2 records in division play and if either team reaches 10-6, the division record tiebreaker would boot the Texans.

So would 10-6 be enough to grab the last wild card berth? Probably, but it’s not a guarantee.

The Texans would be ahead of the AFC South team that lost in Week 17, and couldn’t be caught by the Dolphins. So that just leaves the Ravens.

If the Steelers beat both the Saints and Bengals in the last two weeks to finish 10-5-1, they win the AFC North. And if the Ravens beat the Browns, they’d finish 10-6.

Houston and Baltimore would then both have 8-4 records in the conference, and 4-1 records against common opponents. So it’d go to the strength of victory tiebreaker, which would probably go the Texans’ way. That’s no guarantee, though.

Pitt probably needs to win at New Orleans to even make the playoffs, unless the Ravens lose to the Browns or the Colts lose to the Giants today. That’s a pretty scary proposition and it looks like that 3 game losing streak to the AFC West will end up biting them.
