Why anybody would want to be a referee/umpire in a high level major sport is beyond me.

Yeah that's unfortunate.

Scored right away and now they'll lose.

I don't like that amount of time with a timeout. Tyreek Hill can put them in range quick.

I can think of 4 times that Brady has thrown a game-losing INT in the playoffs and the Patriots are somehow 2-2 in those games. And that’s not even counting the catch by Edelman in the Atlanta Superbowl that was thrown directly to a Falcons defender’s hands.

That one was correct, IMO. I don't see how the punt muff was overturned, though. That was anything but conclusive. Replay was not meant to be overturning so many close calls.

Bob Sutton's job status wouldn't be mentioned at all if Dee Ford didn't line up offsides.

Speaking of the Ford offside call, aren't there 100 coaches watching the line?

Is it someone's responsibility to notice that and call timeout?
Or does it happen too fast? Or was that too close to call?

Dirty secret is that the Pats o-lineman lined up illegally too far back, which likely drew Ford forward when he set his stance. Ford was called because he was indeed lined up offsides. The Pats being illegal was not. Such is life.

Imagine your season ending on that Stefon Diggs catch and then a year later the refs from NFL Blitz show up for one play to end your season.

Is that worse than the recent season ending situations for the Seahawks? With the Seahawks throwing the ball on the goal line, in the SB, with Lynch in the backfield. And then losing their season this year without a kicker and your punter kicks an on-sides in-field fly 25 yards directly at a player on the other team.

Michael Dickson regularly does onside kicks for the Seahawks.

not a great angle, but it looks close enough that officials aren't going to call illegal formation. his helmet is probably lined up very close to the center's butt
