Luke Perry and Jason Priestly were probably the two biggest teen heart throbs back in the day, and that was pre-internet, so everyone was watching the same thing. It was also a major breakout for Fox, when they were on the verge of becoming a relevant network and jumping beyond local network quality programming.

Lets wait until tomorrow and maybe defer to TurdRyan to run it, but I think we need a definitive rankings thread here.

Male teen heartthrobs? May still be grieving but yes.

What if we start with the women of 90210 as a means of easing in?

I really enjoyed his performance as a cult leader in one episode of Criminal Minds. He did a lot of small parts here and there that I was quite fond of. He had a role in some TV movie about a haunted boat or something like that. He was the villain in that too and I thought he was very good at playing the villain.

He was a milquetoast James Dean that somehow caught the hearts and minds of a generation of females. IF you were smart enough, you played along and enjoyed the spoils.

RIP.

I did not know that Kelly Kapowski or Marcil were ever on the show. They are both nice-looking ladies. Don't know who Lyndsey Price is, only vaguely familiar after a google.
And nobody thought the old lady playing a kid was attractive, did they?
Are you saying she wasn't?
If you're 40 and seeing her back then for the first time, I'm sure she's attractive. If you first saw her when you were 14 and she was 30 playing 18, your opinion is locked in. Casting's fault, not ours.
I don’t know about you, but when I was 14, 30 year-old women were not excluded from my fantasies.

(I sat on that all day, cuz there's no way I could broach that conversation with my wife.)

Seriously though - it's humbling to see a guy stroke out like that (4 years older than me).

I can understand why anyone below the age of, say, 40 is looking at this and shaking their head in wonderment. But as someone that is squarely GenX, 90210 was a trailblazer of a show (albeit a pretty cheesy and ultimately fairly worthless endeavor.) It was really what cemented Fox as a legit 4th network and just in general, there wasn't a show on prime time that targeted that demo with what felt like something other than sitcom frippery to that point.

I'm not saying it was some huge cultural phenomenon, but for a group of women (and a sizable chunk of dudes, me and my friends in college included) it is certainly a defining and important part of our pop culture timeline. (Put that in the appropriate place of import.)

=-=-=-==-=

Yeah, I'll fight anyone that says Jenny Garth wasn't straight up hot/adorable. Shannon was very cute and the school marm was mildly attractive in her own way.

But like a lot of looks (body, hair, outfits) from the 80s, not everything translates. One thing I find really interesting going back and seeing stuff from the 80s - It's pretty alarming how much we've just accepted fake boobs as being "natural" at this point. I'm not saying they weren't fake boobs on TV back then, but if you watch reruns, you will absolutely pick up on the fact that MOST of the women don't have huge tits.

Kind of refreshing, tbh.

I got over this concept about 10 years ago, when a coworker/friend the same age as me had a stroke. Fucking terrifying, but fortunately he had no lasting damage, or at least quickly recovered his faculties, who knows what problems this could lead to in his future. His description of going into the emergency room and physically being unable to speak was chilling. He said his mind was working normal, but he couldn't make his voice make sensical sounds or communicate. He was also having trouble walking, as one of his legs wouldn't move, so he kind of dragged himself a couple blocks to the hospital. Luckily he lived really close by. He said the intake people in the ER thought he was faking it to get drugs, or just really high, and they were yelling at him and refusing to process him. I guess they didn't expect a guy in his early 30s to have a stroke. Fortunately he made a scene and a doctor saw him and figured it out.

This is exactly what happens before I have a seizure and it is about as terrifying a feeling as you can imagine. (Fortunately it's been four years since my last one.)

You kids. I’m too old to die young now, so it’s doubly sad when a guy seven years my junior dies of natural causes.

Never had one on me before I have one. (Two came during or after going for a run, one came after I finished driving and was getting out of the car.) Would be interesting I suppose. The most recent one (four years ago) I managed to walk to a gas station and a guy was going to drive me home, but I couldn't explain where I lived or really couldn't explain much of anything. I guess I made it clear I was hoping for a ride home I guess. I had it when I was in his car I guess, which was scarier for him than me probably (I woke up in the hospital after a $900 one-mile ambulance ride).

The goofy new "meta" 90210 is light and inconsequential and generally delightful, but maybe being able to make fun of yourself gets more mileage with me than with others.

"Jenny Garth"'s seething hatred for "Jason Priestly" is perfectly played.

Luke Perry's son is a professional wrestler known as "Jungle Boy"

Holy crap does he look like his dad.

And we stuck out the entire BH90210 series and I more or less stand by my review from August.

Just read this tidbit in an email from an estate lawyer about alternative options to burial/cremation.
Actor Luke Perry, probably best known for his role as Dylan McKay on the Beverly Hills, 90210 TV series, was buried in a specially made biodegradable mushroom suit after his organs were donated. While this may sound like a quirky celebrity antic, the creator of the mushroom burial suit says the mushroom spores that line this special suit are trained to consume dead human tissue. Human remains contain toxins that are released into the atmosphere during cremation or through other methods of burial. Mushrooms can absorb and purify these toxins, resulting in a cleaner earth. After breaking down human tissue, the mushrooms conduct the nutrients from the body to fungi in the soil that then pass these nutrients on to trees.
