NEW THREAD!

Fun facts:

- Duke is the worst 3-point shooting team in the tournament
- Virginia is 0-2 in their last 2 tournament games.
- Syracuse is the only team in the field who has had a coach kill a guy in the past month

I caught the last 8 minutes of the Fairleigh Dicksonson-Prairie View game. FDU was down 4 when I tuned it. It was a barnburner from that point on. It was 55-59 at that point.

Also, Maryland better come to play. Belmont looked legit.

I had some issues with the X played 2 minutes for East-West Montana being ranked higher than the dude that was the NAIA national player of the year. (but it was fun.)

Brush-lite: the FDU coach is the son-in-law of one of my parents' neighbors.

Syracuse's point guard has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of athletic department policy.

If you don't want to hear about the father-son coach-player combo, don't tune in (it'll be easy, it's a truTV game), because Boeheim's kid will probably play 30+ minutes.

Does that suspension materially affect their chances of a first round win?

It’s an 8/9 game so anything out of normal could tilt.

Their offense isn't predicated on their point guard creating, but he is a very good defender in the zone. Boeheim's kid is a much better perimeter shooter, but not nearly as good on defense, so it could go either way.

Doing the fast fill-in on a bracket for my family's pool, I realized that watched almost zero college basketball this year.

So I will be Linda, the secretary in your office who picks teams based on their color, the ferocity of the mascot, and whether a relative has gone to the school.

Coach to wear ripped suit pants to coach against Kentucky.

FFS, does the dude not have a frigging credit card?

Also, as an aside, Tonny Bennett to UCLA seems like it would be a perfect hire. He would dominate PAc 12.

Two decades and counting where all four of the #3-#6 seeds I'd pick to run some upsets are sitting in the same two regions on the same side of the bracket.

Minnesota with a minor upset over L'ville.

Yale with a nice little comeback, but down 8 with 1:22 to go.

Always, always, always fade the ACC (as a whole) in the NCAA Tournament. Year after year, the most overrated conference.

I swear you could hear a slight but still audible crowd reaction when the FSU kid passed on the layup and cost them the cover.

Assuming Michigan State doesn't completely shit its pants here, the Big 10 will have a team in the Sweet 16 after only five games played in the tournament which might be a record?

Maryland got *all* the breaks late on their way to dominating Belmont, 79-77.

Not an impressive win.
