There's nothing more unethical than repeated unnecessary pitching changes with thunderstorms in the area. But that's the Padres for you.

Indeed. Team is pretty fun to watch even if results aren't going their way. But the pythag is awesome!

I get that a bunch of kids get drafted as a “wink wink” but you don’t waste that high anpick on that.

News: Rockies have won eight straight!

Reality Check; They were at home against the Orioles and Blue Jays.

Reality is beating the teams you should and playing .500 ball against the rest.

Does anyone have any information to share on the Minnesota Twins, who are one of the Major League Baseball clubs and appear to have one of the best records amongst said clubs?

No, but they sure can misinform if the intent is to suggest Matt Carpenter is in the same atmosphere as Mike Trout.

Trout’s “Similar Batters through Age 26” (he’s 27):

1. Frank Robinson*
2. Ken Griffey Jr.*
3. Mickey Mantle*
4. Hank Aaron*
5. Miguel Cabrera
6. Orlando Cepeda*
7. Mel Ott*
8. Eddie Matthews*
9. Andruw Jones
10. Albert Pujols

* Signifies Hall of Fame. Cabrera and Pujols will be in the Hall, and through the age 26 season, Andruw Jones was on a HOF trajectory.

I’d reveal Matt Carpenter’s 10 most similar through his current age, but it starts with Ty Wigginton and ends with Aaron freakin Rowand.

I think that tweet can be best summed up as fun with numbers.

Trout has struck out over 160 times more than Carpenter and grounded into 22(!) more DPs.

Definitely trolling. Cardinals fans like Carpenter, but not nearly enough to compare him to Trout. Their more irrational love is generally saved for Molina and Wainwright.

This might not even be a real screen cap anyway. I think if WGN actually put that on the screen, there'd be more attention to it.

I'm ready for all the teams in the Central to regress toward their Pythagorean results.

Or even better, to the B-P 3rd Order Win Pcts. (Which would also give Tampa an 8-game division lead.)

What I find remarkable about the how talent-laden the Astros are is that theyr're this good despite getting absolutely nothing from two of the three #1 overall picks they had.

They do stuff like turning josh fields into yordan Alvarez. And then develop the fuck out of Alvarez.

My team does stuff like deals Aroldis Chapman and Johnny cueto for a platter of rookie Davis, John lamb, Cody Reed and Brandon finnegan and then do what they can to destroy any development.
