I agree! But I don't think that necessarily means the food at his restaurants is great (never been, can't say!) or that the clientele that his places attract are people who you want to spend an hour+ of your leisure time with. Though you're already in Vegas so good luck with that...

Yeah, for all my Guy stumping, I've never actually been in one of his restaurants. But god knows I've seen enough commercials on Triple D to have paid my dues.

Commercials for his restaurants? I don't think I've ever seen one, but I'm also not sure we have any after the quick death of that one in the city.

No, just their normal commercials while the show is on, which I assume they get paid for. Friday nights are LIT at the AB House.

I missed the opening of his chicken place at Harrah's in AC by a couple of months when I was down there for a conference in 2017. I would have definitely tried it out during that trip had it been open as the drunken late-night food offerings weren't the best. I avoided the Times Square place while it was still open based on both the infamous NYT review and my general reluctance to eat at those giant chain restaurants that are all over the place there.

We usually take a PA bus* into the city, so tough to avoid walking through it sometimes. Plus going to Broadway shows is a thing for my wife and one of the kids.

*Should say used to, I still haven't taken the bus (or train) in since 2020. But the parking garage we often use is the one you pretty much can't avoid when you come out of the tunnel, right next to the PA

Is the bus easier (or somehow better?) or just because it would be effort to get to a train?

Look mfer...

We have a direct to PA bus stop downtown, and it's like the second to last stop before NYC. Between getting to a station and figuring out what line to take and whether it requires a change in Newark or whatever the train just always required more effort.

That's why I was asking. Our closest direct bus leaves from the train station and this made me question whether I should have considered it.

You actually don't need a Guy restaurant to eat his food. His Flavortown Kitchen is pretty widely available for delivery. They are a ghost kitchen setup. DC is based out of the buca di beppo.

Microwaved the entire box of frozen taquitos for just long enough to get some smoking hot and others still coldish in the middle. Plop salsa and sour cream in the sides of the bowls of busted open Mexican mush. Three minutes later screamed at the kid that there's nothing else. Just came in here questioning me about why I'm not eating... I'ma start taking pictures. I just don't understand. Microwave taquitos? In a bowl?

Making telera rolls for tortas tonight. Massive food/cooking rut in general here so simply switching from tortillas to bread counts as a change.

The meadery is kosher? I went to a party there, held outside in the parking lot behind the building, maybe because of COVID as it was a good sized group, maybe 30-40 people. Horrible atmosphere outside and I never actually went into the place, but the menu was extremely interesting, the staff was super friendly, and the mead was great. I'd recommend checking it out.

I love it when the wife buys a whole chicken. We (she) roasts it with rosemary, garlic, etc. and we eat it over a few nights. Then she takes the leftover chicken, along with a bunch of other vegetables, herbs and spices, and makes a big pot of soup. So good. And, really cost-effective when you consider all the meals we get out of one chicken. (And it clears a bunch of leftover stuff out of the fridge.)

When world class chefs get asked what they want as their last meal, almost always they say a Roast Chicken.

I liked their sloppy joe's but was more bothered by the volume of meat than I was by the brand. But to that point, if I want that sort of meat I'd go to the much-discussed Mr. Sub in Union and get a sandwich for at least 1/2 the price.
