Calm down, Pete Davidson.

Closest I've been is Bayonne. Does it get worse?

It's always struck me as the most Jersey of the boroughs (which might be enough against it for some people) but with the bad aspects (traffic, tolls, taxes, racism) turned up a notch. That's largely based on vibes and might be apocryphal because I haven't spent that much time there myself. Maybe I can take that last sentence out of the spoilers, it's nice-ish?

Yeah, there's another state to be made from Long Island, a lot of Staten Island and some of the more fuckin' Jersey of the NJ towns. It could be called like Worse Italy or something. There's a lot of the same type of person widely dispersed throughout the tri-state, but when you meet one of them, you're absolutely 100% certain when they've come from one of those areas. They might seem fuckin' Long Island but they're actually fuckin' Toms River or vice versa, but they're never not from one of them. No exceptions ever.

Spot on analysis from Rass and D. I haven't spent much time on Staten Island, but it definitely has a Rahway/Linden type vibe to me. Always cracked me up how the (mostly Italian-American) stereotypical Long Island and NJ people (think the cast of Jersey Shore) absolutely hate each other, yet they are identical and everyone hates them, yet they are so proud to perpetuate the stereotypes.

Gave the three bucks I had in cash to a homeless lady (or just a beggar, anyway, she needed $3 more than me) and then walked towards the store. She yells out "hey" so I turn around and apparently I had accidentally handed her a receipt from a work trip last week that was between two bills. It was for $82 which is above our $25 "no receipt" rule so I would have had a hassle to go through to show it on my statement, etc. Anyway, since she returned it it saved me time at the least and 50+ bucks at best. Kinda wish I had more to give her, and if I had been going into a grocery store I would have offered to get her some food like I have done several times before for others. ANyway, she didn't have to do that so that was nice.

She looked strung out as hell, hope she gets help for whatever situation she finds herself in. She was gone by the time I came out of the store.
